Hi. Hope someone can help me. My clerk recently sent my completed lsap application form off to Gossport. I called JPA the other day and they have confirmed they received it on the 22nd November but it hadnt been processed yet. I was just wondering what happens next as my solicitor has never dealt with lsap before and keeps calling me saying she still hasnt heard anything from lsap department. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long before your completion date that lsap initially make contact with solicitor. Thanks. My completion date is 14th Jan. Thanks again.

If I remember correctly I think I was told that it can take up to 6 weeks to process it.
 
I thought that it was an 8-week process. IIRC there was some guidance, either on JPA or the JSP, that strongly advised that we shouldn't plan on getting anything before 8 weeks.
 
At my unit, it has been briefed repeatedly that 8 weeks was the minimum from receipt of application to payment. This came about because a couple of individuals tried to make an official complaint about non-payment, then it came to light that they had submitted their applications about 3 weeks before completion and expected the whole world to stop what they were doing and process their urgent requests.

The 8 week advice came from the LSAP team at the JPAC.

I applied for LSAP about 3 weeks ago, and the paper work has just been sent out to the solicitor. My exchange of contracts is next friday, however, the LSAP team are willing to accept the information and forms via fax which speeds things up especially with the weather playing havoc with the mail. Once all of the forms are back to the LSAP team they need 3 - 5 working days to clear the funds.
