What you mean is that Lims and ADFs are now going to be tracked on the short forecast now? Makes the rects controller job a little easier!

On a northern OCU, when I was RC, reds and greens were checked at least once daily so the forecast wasn't important. Saying that, I can see the point if it chased up demands to spring the ADF/LIM.

They were when I was on the Jags. I did it several times when I stood in for the RC. I cannot put my head around the function change, Lims and ADFs were always a grey area in the LITS process, unless it is to give IPTs more visablity, but other systems (that are OSA stuff) did that.

Personally, I'd go for any measure that sits with the rules but makes the RC's job easier, especially if you have more than a handful of jets.:PDT_Xtremez_19:

The only trouble with WRAM is that it was built 20 years behind LITS - and yes, even as a civvie, I do know what WRAM is - whilst looking for a new system I found that a mate of mine negotiated the sale of WRAM to MOD! An ex-Sgt Rigger Appo - he now flies around UK in his own plane.

Yes it was, and it was menu driven before WOL was born, but for all that it worked, because was a tried, tested and proven system. The RN (bless 'em) knew that and exploited it. LITS is still a pile of crap 20 years down the road.

All together now,

"Come cheer up me lads tis to glory we steer........

LITS didn't exist 20 years ago. It only started with some fleets less than 10. LITS does a lot more than WRAM ever did, you just don't see it until you need to find fault / life history / ORN info on assets quickly etc. For that it is brilliant.

Yeah I remember 20 years ago someone asking what we wanted 'son of SEMA' to be like, and then 6 years later seeing a lot of that capability delivered to Colt, before someone took the ''value for money' axe to it. LITS is not without its issues, but contains enormous amounts of data that could be exploited to make your lives easier if only the reports could get written when they are needed. In comparison WRAM isn't much more than a glorified spreadsheet and the less said about EHUDS (rip) and ESS the better.

Since version 3 hit the streets (just recently) all of that is about a button press away. I've worked with both systems and I've gotta say that I prefer WRAM Online (never used the original Green Screen version) though in all fairness I haven't used LITS for 3 or 4 years now so it may well have improved since I last used it.
The major downside of WRAM is the inability to create assets at local level. Plus due to the fact that there are a number of servers (each serving a different area of the helicopter fleet - Sea King/Lynx anyway) if the item you need is not on your server you have to get a remote help cell to transfer it for you... which usually leads to ADF (Pt3) entries.
