I doubt many have switched onto it - these "Bad News" announcements seem to be buried.

Having said that, I'm sure that it would have been a better idea to stop everyone's and then only those who fulfil the criteria would then be eligible to re-claim, so the OP's Sqn Admin seem to have taken a pro-active approach to make sure members of their section dont incur large bills somewhere down the line.

However, since the introduction of JPA, I was led to believe that the admin staff were no longer the allowances police. In fact, I have seen e-mails that colleagues of mine received from a Chf Clk when they asked allowances-type questions. The reply was simply a link to the JSP with a terse comment - "You'll find the answer in here".

You're right, we're not. Until JPAC come back with "see your Unit HR". Entitlements to allowances such as GYH(M) are actioned by arrivals clerks so I think it's only fair we take a pro-active approach to managing (policing, if you prefer) these allowances.

Sort of the Chf Clk equivalent to "the search button is your friend" :PDT_Xtremez_14: But I do recognise it's very frustrating for aircrew/techies/chefs/whoever to get that response from someone they consider to be the HR specialist. It probably won't happen during your or my remaining careers, but I think we will go full circle eventually.
