I remember being on det with the Americans at various locations, particularly at Incirlik and this type of coin (often refered to by the Americans as a 'tapping' coin) were often handed to people as a sign of gratitude for helping to get things done.

So just like the one I got in kandahar for being so fcuking ace then? :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Challenge or 'Coin Check' Rules

Challenge or 'Coin Check' Rules

1. RULES:

Challenging or 'Coin Checking' Rules vary, however the following can be used as a base line:

A. The challenge is initiated by drawing your coin, holding it in the air by whatever means possible and state, scream, shout or otherwise verbally acknowledge that you are initiating a coin check. Another, but less vocal method is to firmly place it on the bar, table, or floor (this should produce an audible noise which can be easily heard by those being challenged, but try not to leave a permanent imprint). If you accidentally drop your coin and it makes an audible sound upon impact, then you have just "accidentally" initiated a coin check. (This is called paying the price for improper care of your coin.)

B. The response consists of all those persons being challenged drawing their coin in a like manner.

C. If you are challenged and are unable to properly respond, you must buy a round of drinks for the challenger and the group being challenged.

D. If everyone being challenged responds in the correct manner, the challenger must buy a round of drinks for all those people they challenged.

E. Failure to buy a round is a despicable crime and will require that you turn-in your Coin to the issuing agency.

2. WHEN - WHERE:
A. Coin checks are permitted, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE.

3. EXCEPTIONS:
A. There are no exceptions to the rules. They apply to those clothed or unclothed. At the time of the challenge you are permitted one step and an arms reach to locate your coin. If you still cannot reach it -- SORRY ABOUT THAT!

Many thanks to everyone who voted. I will have a picture of the first coin off the production line by next week, then will let everyone know when they will be available for sale...

Thanks again...

In a similar manner to AA**E, can we ask for a particular coin number?

Fubar

Hi Fubar,

It was considered but due to all the problems of particular numbers asked for multiple times by PM and E-Mail is was decided to do the Veterans Coin with a Blank Scroll so anyone purchasing can get their Coin engraved with whatever number or details they want, this is the reason for the much longer scroll this time as it will allow for peoples names, service number, Unit or short message so should also be perfect as gifts from Family to service members or former members.

You wouldn't believe the problems caused by the pre-stamped consecutive numbers :PDT_Xtremez_35:...

Thanks for the quick reply. I can see the logic in your explanation. Look forward to hearing when they will be available.

Cheers,
Fubar

The Die/Mould is currently being made, this is actually quite large and is hand sculpted! it allows for really good detail as the larger Die/Mould is then transferred down to the Coin making the 3D effect really stand out.

The first Sample Coin should be ready in a few days, Monday at the latest and then I will upload the photos.

Thanks Fubar

Every Coin Sold will raise 2 Pounds for Holidays 4 Heroes, in addition to these there will also be 10 Coins engraved with Holidays 4 Heroes, which will be auctioned by the H4H Group to raise further funds...

You can Pre-Order your Veteran Challenge Coin at www.ukchallengecoins.com or wait until they have been completed in 2 - 3 weeks time and order then... with Christmas coming we expect the coins to sell quite fast as we have already had a lot of interest in them from across the three Armed Services... :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Are we going to run a similar photo competition to that run on AR**E?

(Best location of the coin, for those who don't look at the other site)

Fantastic work!!!!!

Five ordered, one for me, one for my Dad, One for my sister's fellah whose "brother" (actually a cousin but they were both brought up together as brothers) was killed in the Stan a few months ago. The other two are for my two colleagues who are both ex RAF.

We certainly can do Fubar, there is an Armed Forces Veteran FaceBook Group we can add photos to, some of the ARRSE Coins have been landing in some excellent places and with several well known people so far!

Good to see the coin is going down well... :PDT_Xtremez_14:
