November's Pay

My, what an honest bunch they are - and you can be certain of that I take it? But the question is 'Are they still being charged food and accom whilst they are home for the weekend? Can they claim it back?'

The JSP certainly needs updating even if only to include 'Internet Access' under the IE definition; At Cosford the only internet access I could get cost me something like 2 quid for 20 minutes. Hmm, I'm sure the current definition is quite broad brush - isn't there an "etc" following "...phone call, newspaper or washing"?

Sorry if I sound like a "no" man, but I'm just stating a fact. Most of us are so scared these days of being done through fraud that they are sh!t scared of even claiming for entitled stuff, let alone items on shaky ground.

Anyway, back on my original topic before it was hijacked - Any other shiney goaters experiencing random accom charges with their personnel?

Interestingly, the JSP has not yet been updated and still refers to actual incidental expenditure.

I've just checked and the JSP says that it's designed to cover expenses actually incurred (ie you did make a phone call home, do washing) and then it states:

Receipts for expenditure are not required and reimbursement of IE will be paid at a fixed daily capped rate.

Fair enough, I interpreted it slightly differently. So, to be legal, spend 25p on a newspaper every day and you can claim your £5.

I agree with MWD that if people return home at weekends they should not be claiming IE for those days.

Off Topic Good to see you around Angel, where've you been?

Now you've got me worried, I got a rebate this month as it had previously been screwed up and I actually thought that at long last I was straightened out!
I'll have to hang onto it now just in case, or at least until I can get my arse down to PSF to check its kosher.
Just in time for Xmas, Ho Ho fcuking Ho.

Off Topic TBJ, I finally managed to get some of that leave stuff that everyone has been talking about. Could do with some more now though to recover from the first lot!

Pretty messy now at Cott - Lots of both RAF Sqn's lads randomly charged for accom that they were already charged for over 12 months ago and some stn personnel charged accom for periods spent OOA when they were in Field Conditions.

General consensus here is that too many external agencies have access to JPA Pay inputs, so when the JPAC spout "Its an HR problem", it isn't necessarily a problem that has been created at Unit Level.

My SAC has just been speaking to the focal point about this accommodation charge issue. If you look at the payroll process results for Apr 07 you will find that anyone charged for single accommodation while on detachment from JPA go-live onwards was given a refund in Apr. This has been recovered from November's salary.

I'm not sure about those who were in field conditions on temporary/detached duty during that period but it now appears that all the accommodation charges recovered this month are correct.

Speaking to the Focal Point?

Lucky you! The phone never gets picked up when I dial!

They rang us - probably because we put in iSupports for every one of our guys and then kicked off when they were all closed with answers which proved they hadn't read the original question properly. ::/:
