Whoah, hang on. You originally said "Don't forget that the vehicle should be level, otherwise the oil won't all drain out". I was merely saying that in some cars, the oil will never "all drain out" if it's level, that's all. As Teh Wal said, for the home mechanic carrying out an oil change on his drive, it's probably easier to just jack up part of the car with a jack anyway as well as getting more oil out. Given that my Escort has the sump plug on the back of the sump that's the way I do it.
