On my first day on the High Payband I will...

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Nice rant, but you should really lay off the tippex! Us techies arn't going to get paid any more, not when they are laying them off and the lack of work on the outside.

Plenty of work outside, but you need to a) Fill your CV, the more the better and b) Think outside the box, there's more to engineering than aircraft work

Thought they had a RoS when they had the licence?

Most of them do..however, following the completion of RoS, payment of FRI or other pay enhancement has been ruled out. The logic being that it wont be looked at until it is an acute problem. When you compare the cost of such an enhancement versus the considerable cost and lead-time for licensed engineers, it seems a little short sighted and risky.

Is it a problem are many leaving and end of RoS?

i think most would agree that aircraft techies should be payed more than other trades because of their lenth and standard of training, time involved in getting to SAC Tech(and rock stars wages) and the responsibilities involved in the job they carry out.

Its not inconceivable that somewhere down the line this lack of incentive will be recognized and addressed for one of a number of reasons.

Lets hope so.

You may think this a naive attitude but if you had been an admin bod advocating rock star wages 20 or even 10 years ago who wouldn't have thought you weren't talking out your @rse?

Obviously your training didn't include spelling did it, I suggest you take a look closer to home before taking the Pi*s out of other trades.

This Air Force would fall on its arse if it wasn't for the Stackers and Scribblies.

I don't think he took the p!ss out of any trade. He certainly didn't question the role any trade plays in the RAF. His point was based purely on the training and structure of technical trades. You seem to have got your back up about things he didn't actually post. Just a thought.

You are correct. But, our techie bretheren have taken this so far off topic, that is why I believe Snowball is a little miffed.

Ahh c'mon you know when you started the thread it would end up exactly like this. Good drills... it's good that our trade has been given what it deserved... though we actually deserved more. :)

I agree with you RB, Cpl's should have been given the upbanding aswell. Too many good guys out there, and with promotion lilited for a while, hard times ahead.

Should have known that a techie site would manipulate the thread towards a/c competences and retention.

Look on the positive side, I stopped the shanking I developed in Portugal. Ready for Bitche on Saturday.

E-Goat isn't a techie site, despite what some people would have you believe! It's just techies appear to be one of the grumpiest trade groups at the moment! :PDT_Xtremez_14::PDT_Xtremez_14:

I agree with you MP. But, we're all miserable at the moment. However, after my shank cure, things are looking up for me at least !

As for trade bashing/ taking the p!ss out of other trades????????????????????

On my original post on this thread i genuinely congratulated stackers and adminers on their new status and never questioned the validity of any trades role.

Some guy twitchy folk out there:0

Don't say that !!

Cheers for the info - now what to spend the extra £4500 on - hmmm. Thoroughly deserved, well overdue and great credit bestowed to those who worked tirelessly on our behalf. This achievement is fair reflection of our trade especially when compared against 'other' high pay banders!!!!!

Just seen Apr payslip on JPA and its a welcome sight to see that little extra in there. May even buy some of the guys a beer, then again probably not!
