'they' are some of the worst fans i have ever come across...
a fair few thousand get on the trams back into town and onwards to areas such as bury (got a team!), rochdale (yep, got a team!) and oldham...
their faces are always sullen at the best of times, and i do try my hardest and ask them how they got on, in a similar way to when i see city fans out and about...
but i have NEVER understood how fans who constantly complain about how much their season tickets cost, can walk away from a ground with 15 mins to go??? and that is when they are winning!!! and to be totally honest, how often do they finish teams off in the last few mins???
but on days like that, and yes it makes my own teams devastating loss all the more acceptable, i really do chuckle on how crap it must be to be a united fan away from their 'final' appearances!!
and before any crawl out of the woodwork .... i must admit that i try to get there at least once a season to see some real 'world class' football, but can never work out why the 'fans' i work with will not buy the tickets (at face value!) that are often up for grabs at work due to the cup ticket scheme and shift work getting in the way???
but then, when i hear them complaining that sky shouldn't be screen blackburn v bolton as no-one will be watching that ...and they don't have setanta, so can't watch their heroes....it really makes my blood boil...
fans? in fact i admire the ones that travel 1,000's of miles a season to watch their team... the cost of which must be incredible!!!!.. but the vast majority of locals are nothing but vain, lazy wanna be's....
.........." this is a Piccadilly service... the next stop will be Disneyland Old Trafford!..."
