For those of you who are less technically talented and have kids please take note. Never be afraid to ask me any questions as I will always have time to help you protect your children from the scum who prey on them online.

I've been involved in computing for 45 years or so s a student, designer, builder and family fixer and have never heard o most of those.

Are they all bad or some bad some good?
 
Some are bad mate and designed to be hidden from parents. Others are just social apps that can be used by groomers, if parents are not aware of what they are or who their kids are talking to on them.

In our day we had to worry about stranger danger these days we have that to worry about that, but more worrying is the person taking months talking to kids, grooming them and earning their trust.
 
Any parent especially those of under 16 or so should be controlling their kids internet time either by sitting on their shoulder or putting programs in place that stop the kids wandering too far into the unknown.
 
Sadly 20 years worth of Pandora Box has lost Hope of re-educating today's youngsters. I think you need campaigns by Leftwing lobbyists similar to the Greta Thunberg crowds to get the young generation to pry them away from these Honeytrappers. Originally we had the Happy Slapper kick now we have instant gratification by Rap music of stabbing and murder. I personally wouldn't use Facebook or Twitter not because of conspiracy kick, but more of the inane practice of garbage in garbage out. I'm try to think what was the forerunner I know Instant Message email SMS MMS. Give me Morse code any day and RSI:unsure:
 
Aside from Snapchat and Whatsapp I have never heard of any of the rest of them....

God I am old.....

You aren't wrong....mind you, I did like that p1ss take someone did online about the latest concept in real world social media called "The Pub"... apparently it creates an environment where you can interact with "real people" using something called "actual conversation"...😄

I know we're veering off topic but there was a phone in on LBC yesterday, where according to a report 9 out of 10 houses which are let as HMO do not have a social area. People prefer to stay in their rooms and socialise on the internet or meet Outside of the HMO.
