Pay Award 2016 Announced

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Looks like its 1% across the board (as we already knew).

No increase in SFA in preperation for transition to CAAS.

Small increase on some SLA and in food charge

Loads more details in the DIN

P.S. The pay rises on promotion will not be experienced by me as I am enjoying what time I have left in the RAF by working my arse off, seeing and doing as much as I can, getting q's along the way and then leaving at 40. Not long to go...

Explain to me how your pay is affected by NEM more than me then... Is the disparity between pay 2000 and NEM greater for you than me? I doubt it. Again you will see what you want to see.

I miss out on the top increment of high level Sgt. I will also have to mark time for 4 years to catch up with my current wage. Then top out a year later! How many increments do you have, sir!?

Well seeing as I was already on more than a top increment flying officer when I commissioned I've done a fair bit of marking time and will do again over the next few years. Next?

Of course they will. That's how it works isn't it?

You say that but, and i went through the shafting that was pay 2000 with a few ****ed off techies, but this, its momentous, I've never heard such animated and vitriol points of view and all coming down on the same side. Someone has royally ****ed up here!

A top increment Flt Lt is in no different a situation to yourself chump. There are plenty of career Flt Lts of which I'm one.

I went through pay 2000 as a techie also. I also completely agree that NEM is diabolical I just don't agree with the 'oh but at least the officers' are OK' sentiment. It is factually incorrect and does nothing but undermine the sound arguments being made against NEM in my opinion.

That would happen to me also if I was to commission. Then I'd get a £2k pay rise after 18 months for not mucking up.... Your choice to be a career flt lt....

We share the same common ground on something (finally).

You're right. It is. I don't regret it one bit. But not everyone does that by choice and I'm not the one complaining or pointing fingers.

P.S. It's also your choice not to commission so it goes both ways.

Fairly sure It's not my choice.

I doubt I'd get a positive recommendation when I answer the the question

"Why do you want to go for you commission?"

with

"Because, although you guys have been butt****ed by the NEM pay scales, you've been butt****ed far less than I have and I wouldn't mind some of that sweet officer money, final lump sum payment and pension"

Curse my integrity, why couldn't I just lie and tell them what they want to hear?

Did anyone else read that the decisions affecting all of us serving at the moment apply to a "Whole Force Concept"? I think I know where this is going but...how come the NEM, AFRB etc only applies to either quote "1 Star or 2 Star and below". If you're signing off the document I suppose you're not going to shoot your paypacket in the foot??? Whole Force Concept...anyone???...

Saw this coming and pushed the button before they moved the goal posts. I honestly believe they don't want people seeing out a full pensionable career so they can save more money. It seems they want to promote people quickly to fill the experience gaps then move them out into civvy street before their end of service. With the inexperience I see around now there's an accident waiting to happen somewhere. Add to that the incredibly low morale and things are looking grim.

It certainly seems that way - they're changing everything for those with time served, making it bad enough for people to want to jump ship and sacrifice what they've worked long years for. At the same time, big recruiting campaigns to get people through the doors. Most of the guys joining now probably won't make it past 9 years.

Talk about re-invent the wheel! Said exactly the same at the CIO over twenty + years ago. 3 years later had no JT's, 2 years after that no Cpls. Alot of dross got promoted (present company excepted LOL) and now they are the senior SNCO'S hanging on by their fingernails blocking promotion for others and equally unable to manage.
