Poll for the juniors

7 years left for my 22 and if I get my next banana I will sign on to 30, but only so I can choose my time of leaving, i.e., once the kids have finished school. I won't be chasing after the promotion though - I've seen too many people waste the last few years of their career, doing everything right but being screwed over by tiny promotion quotas.

I've been looking at the jobs market lately and with only a couple of additional qualifications (easily attainable in the time I have left) there is no limit on my future salary. Human Resources consultants are being paid anything from £25K to £150K at the mo.

New Poll?

New Poll?

There should be a new poll after this one asking the new guys if they plan on doing there 18?
New pension scheme reduces that trap, dont know if the thinking is more will stay for 18? or the plan to get people out quicker and stop the lazy SNEC syndrome.

Is that £150k for working at JPAC?

I wish. Last year they were looking to employ ex-SACs/Cpls to work in the enquiry centre so they could get an injection of Service knowledge. A team leader's position was offered at £16-£18K. No way I was giving up my pension for that!

Obviously, the £150K job was at the top end of the market - although it shows just what is available. There is no reason why any Pers Admin NCO with a bit of ambition couldn't pick up an HR job that pays £45-£60K.

I planned not to get to 6! Although so did hubby and he has signed on for 22, so hoping to escaping long before it comes to that.

(I would like to point out, that amongst other reasons [my daughter's birth being one] my main reason for leaving was the loss of my beloved SAMA - RIP dear friend)

gonna get pensionable then bugger off out the country. somewhere hot and sunny like oz maybe nice.

9 for me - after I've milked the SLC/ELC system for a degree and maybe a masters if I can crack on quickly enough :o)

Done 20 yrs would be stupid to leave now. Give me that lump sum, pension and im leaving for sunnier climes.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Pension trapped. Got one more week than the Loan Ranger to do. So get those qualifications and plan to be a Mr in 2013. If I get LOS then I will take it as it will mean some form of stability for the kids.

Time to do!

Time to do!

I like alot of others, am only hear because the pension is to close, ::/:
If redundancy was offered now i would leave. Don't get me wrong, i have and still do enjoy the RAF but I have reached the stage in my life where other things need to take priority.

I think i'm bored of the same old, same old and need new direction in my life.:PDT_Xtremez_21:

I may become a lesbian:PDT_Xtremez_30:

I've got six and a half years left till the 22 is up. I'd take LOS 30 as well if I get me 3rd. If you get to that point you may as well go for 55 as well. It's not getting easier to stay in though is it? It just comes down to salary and security of the job, I don't mind hard graft, but you have to admit it we are on a good wage.
But, I'd also consider redundancy if I qualified. I've been out by a matter of months in the tranches!
