You know when you said I had to speak to my section , who would I ask for and what would I say , I'm confused on that part of it. And I'm joing the fire service so would It come under the fire section then.

I'd have thought so !

Once you get your posting notice through, your new line manager should also get a copy.

Just give them a bell, Station web page - directory,(or 2222 - Don't !!)

and I'm sure they'll do their best to help you.... it's a lot less scary in the 'real' world - a bit of initiative goes a long way :)

Are you actually in the RAF??

Hmmm, as above, are you actually in yet? Done Specialist Interview? At Halton? If so you should already be aware that you'll have 17 weeks to do at Manston and of what that consists. Don't worry when everybody gets their postings (all on the same day) you'll all be given points of contact and the relevant secton numbers. Your PoC will also sort your single accommodation and for married folk your Phase 2 instructor along with Admin at Manston will assist you in applying for a married quarter. It's also very likely that your new WO or FS will attend your Manston pass out parade on the Friday before you start on the Monday.

Believe it or not, you're not the first person to have actually finished training, nor or you the first person to have been received by their new section.
A little anxiety is natural. Yours is getting silly.
Chillax and enjoy the ride.

And try not to throw up in the squadron bar, narrowly missing your new Warrant Officers shoes...

Being A fireman make sure they book your ID 10t photo the week you arrive as they can take a while to come through.

Before anyone start having ago at me , no I'm not int the R.A.F , like I said it had been playing on my mine for quite a while and I just needed to get a answer tht all. Yes I have anxiety but I'm getting over it .

Pray tell us Young Pajoka exactly what stage you are at then.

Hi all , been playing on my mind but when you get told your first posting from trade training do you get joining instructions sent to you and contact numbers to ring. For example booking accodomatioun.

Got an issue about problems you have in the RAF? Get the info straight from the RAF Community.

The red text above is the header of this particular forum, so your initial post is in the wrong place, as we now are told by you that you are not actually in the Royal Air Force. Prepare for some incoming, and lets hope that ILLBW is sleeping in the Mess and has not read this thread.

It's probably best to at actually join up, pass basic then trade training before you worry about booking accom etc. the RAF will through a lot at you so best get used to rolling wth it.... Good luck

I don't want to be unkind but with that kind of propensity to anxiety (or obsessiveness? or thought blocking?) I don't see you ever getting in, and if you did, in my opinion admittedly not having met you, you wouldn't complete RTS. It's not in your own interests or in anybody else's - who wants an anxious fire fighter?

I hope you are getting help with your problem but the signs are that you probably aren't. Do go and see your GP or a teacher you trust. You give the impression of being well under 18 and if so eligible for help from the Children & Young Persons' Mental Health Team [yes, I remember your wife's frustrations, Vim, but this probably wouldn't be residential]. But even if not, ask your GP for help, including being referred to your local Adult Mental Health Team. Talking therapy with some medication and maybe art psychotherapy are what works here, don't be fobbed off with an addictive GP prescription and no referral.

Good luck!

I am getting help trust I used to be worst than this and I'm like on the border line really if u get wht I mean . The last thing is trying to get confident on the phone . Trust me I've wanted to go in the raf since my uncle shown me around the base when I was 8 and he was a warrant office in the engineering side of things working on the harriers . He the one that told me to see the doctors e.t.c and it helping trust

I strongly suggest that you show this thread, in its entirety, to the professional who is giving you help, or your care co-ordinator, if you have one. In order not to get in that person's way (I'm retired NHS mental health, and earlier retired RAF air traffic control) I'm not going to comment on your posts from now on.

I hope all goes well for you!
