How does the promotion system work? Do ACOS role the bones or have a secret lottery?

When are we going to see this complete Network Enabled Capability that we were told about?

Since we are all one trade, when will we see an Ex-TG11 do Radar and or legacy equipment as part of there "career development" in TG4.

Why do stable married guys now feel that they are being marginalised because they have families? And by that I mean that the promotion system wants young, single anything but primary work and experience type people!!

When are people in Cyprus actually going to do what they are paid to do and not act like charity worker central?

When will you admit that TG4 was a clusterF of the highest order benefitting the marginal TG11 few?

Why are we even advocating "Jointery" in certain areas of Comms etc? Give us the equipment manual and we can do the Siggies job as well as our own......BETTER!!

Do they have any ounce of regret that skilled, valuable ex3 (I know it's the same old story) are taking the difficult decision to walk instead of stay in and keep getting kicked on every promotion boards for the last 4 years?

Good set of questions with those 2 highlighted highlighting that you might be bitter.
 
Why weren't TG3 offered redundancy rather than being forced into inferior posts? (at a time when other trades were getting redundancy)

Which moron decided that software development was non-technical?

When will an apology be forthcoming for the complete destruction of some TG3 careers?

When techie pay comes back in 2014, are we going to get it or was TG4 really a cash saving excersise?
 
The majority of my Questions have already gone through my Line Management to the TG4 Spoonsor, but a couple for on here.

Do the promotion board see people with 6 years+ of experience and then ingnore them because they are too "Old School"?

Why is NO Credit given to people with a broad experience base on multiple equipments and in mulitple fields and more credit given to the people who have only done 1 job while serving.

Does he think the "Three Years Seniority" is a suitable amount for a trade with relatively slow promotion when people with only 3 years will have only experienced a small portion of the trade.

Without giving a Corporate Line Answer..... Does he believe Ex TG3 are given les favour then Ex TG11 / New School TG4?

I would say most would be aimed at Mr W.

I witnessed a TG3 FS rip into him at an unrelated meeting and he just sat there, with nothing to say for himself.
 
I would ask why no "weighting" was given on promotion boards to WO for ex TG3 personnel who went through the Chf Tech rank when the trades merged. To be told that you were not "read" under the previous 5 yr system as a Flt Sgt when you had already done 5 yrs + as a Chief was galling to say the least, especially when the ex TG11 and riggers had not done time as Chiefs and acheived promotion to WO.

There is also the added bonus now of being on level 9/9 for pay with no chance of any increase in wages (pay freeze) unless picked up for promotion. Ho Hum!

It was Mr G, and I posed most of the questions asked, lots of corporate YES man stuff going on. We all know TG4 is a joke. One ex 11 wanted to do the 4001/4002 course, but he wasn't having any of it. The skills you have are where you get posted... unless you are an 11 and have no trade, so you'll get nice Cisco courses etc and have a cushy career upon exit.

For the ex 3's, you'll be fixing valves till they're out of service and then you'll be obsolete and unemployable in civvie street.

Who said there is no justice!

but "valves"? surely it is all solid state stuff now?

In regards to ex TG3 being unemployable in the current market place. This is not true (I am ex TG3 - AD) although out since 95.

If you have knowleddge/skills related Radio Access, then you are very much required + a lot of you will be used to Code division access platforms in the military sphere, and this is the platform used for 3G networks + soon the "real" 4G commercial network rollouts will start (these will be all IP based and all packet based networks, no circuit switching at all)

Do not believe for One minute you do not posses the skills for the Telecomms industry, you certainly do.

Not so anymore. We never get to touch anything. I have my background and self study, but the newer guys in are just button pressers and charity workers. It's all gone to contract which is the bigest shame of the whole process. So many switched on guys not getting to touch the kit and waiting for a contractor to sort out a problem. Some progress huh?

I will take your word for that. However, it does not change my statement that EX TG3 guys possess the required skills needed in the commercial Comms world.

It is no different in Civvy St, where all the younger ones just want to press buttons & play with the Sw....but a reql requirement exists for guys who know Radio inside/out and are capable/willing and willing to learn/take on additional tasks.

I read on here so often about academical/vocational quals to see people right in Civvy St, but what is sorely lacking are people who are willing to take on add tasks learn, be adaptable etc etc.

I just dont get all you bitter and twisted guys. The thread was started in good faith hoping for a topical discussion. But instead all you whinging whining sour faced dare i say it Ex TG3's come bleeting about how you have been hard done by. We are here now and all have jobs to do, man up!

If you have a constructive question ask it, If you have a problem, air it in the right forum.

At least you saved me from getting that slap.

But I would suggest either some ex 11 primadonna or a shiney new "TG4 is all lovely la la la" type who didn't go through all the poo that us TG3 went through.........
