Quickest way to get promoted.

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
1. Be a "good bloke" with the gift of the gab.

2. Ignore your job completely. This includes proper filling in of job cards and other documentation. This will result in poor QA standards. That's ok though as you are a "good bloke".

3. Sit at your computer all day looking busy. What you actually will do is be charity co-ord as well as BBQ co-ord. That's ok though as you are a "good bloke".

Worked for loads of people in Cyprus.

Dont bother being good at your job or even knowing your job get an "Admin" type post working for a high ranking officer or in a CP so your face is seen in the write meetings!! A High profile job is what i believe they are called.
You may not be able to look at yourself in the mirror and any thoughts of integrity are long gone and you wont kow s**t about the trade but you'll be promoted so nothing else matters except finding a new kiss ass job to claw further up the ladder.......
Just an idea.................

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Instead of thinking 'what have i done for myself?' when did you last think 'what have I done for others? That gets noticed.

When, honestly, did you take 6 monthlies seriously?. Do you really believe that you are doing nothing worth comment or could you find out from your RO what you could do more? Your opportunity, use it to your advantage.

Agree with the 'nice guy' comments, no one wants to work with a ***! Is this you?

But be good at your trade! Not just your job!

I don't think anyone has mentioned this one yet, but talk to your RO. Tell them you are aiming for a good assesment and ask their advice for what you need to do to get it. You can do this at the start of the reporting period then when the 6 monthly comes around ask if you are still on track for a better assesment.

Also make sure you know what needs to be on your assesment! for example the 2 Ranks up I was told needs to be at least a 'Yes' to be considered. My 1st RO didnt know this, but was happy to change it when we discussed it.

Finally, if you don't agree with your report, tell them! It can be hard, but there are stories from people all around the RAF who got picked up after doing that.
