Has anyone else google earthed RAF Hereford recently? (Now SAS land)
Holy **** it has changed!! Where has the wooden huts gone!!! lol
What a top camp. The pitch n putt golf course i build on pool flt in 1989 has gone too ... I am gutted! The med cent over the road has vanished. Anyone else here from middle of 89 circa?? Do u rem the bloke called Phil the medic? He was on duty medic, got ****ed (as always) took the metro down town to get chinky and crashed it into the doors so i heard....... lol
 
Had to go there a few times in the last couple of years all work related, it was good to drive round and see how things have changed but I was shocked at just how much has changed Irish.

Ha d night down there for a sporting event (watching of course) Gym No1 was the venue but with a bar set-up inside, beat the last time I was in there

Lots of buildings changed, new ones built and now surrounded by double fence and razor wire all the way round, won't say much else on here but if you want to chat about it you know where I am

I was back at the Supply Mecca last year. Had plenty of retro training moments. Infact I had to inspect the tree by the old WRAF block, nailed a scribbly against it...how it stayed up (the tree that is) i'll never know.
Yeah Pad, it has changed, but apart from the wooden huts going for a burton, it still has the same charm as we all remember it. Love to get a posting there, the town still rocks for a night on the p*ss.

I had a few encounters in that WRAF block (Jackson wasn't it?). One involved me denying I'd ever been in there to a RAFP after he watched my shin down the drainpipe. Still got away with, top blagger me!
 
Best time of my life: Basic Supply course Oct-Dec 91.
The camp was full of people on courses, 3 or 4 basic supply, 2 or 3 SC, loads of Shinys(many of who were also in my Flt at Swinderby during basic training)
Loads of pongos to scrap with. NAAFI bops twice a week, Rugby club(till I got banned(quite wrongly) )
The easiest course Ive ever taken in my life, so no revison or stress necessary.
Just a great time for 11 weeks

SC course in May 94 wasnt as good, as there werent any Shinys there, and no basic suppliers either. So the social side was dead.

Bloody hell Irish your showing your age now old man, I would have been 9 then and still in primary school!! Har har har!! xx
 
I notice the only wooden huts still standing are the one's used by the Supply Training School (aka 3 Sqn in my brat days). No sign of the Wyevale Restaurant ( brats' mess) or the Sgt's Mess - it's just clear ground now. Something about that bend in Duffy's Dyke (from GST days) on its way across the sports(?) field doesn't quite fit in with my memory of the place.

Yeah thanks for that. I went through Hereford (literally) in 77/78. Xmas Bop(s) and 5 women to every bloke, even Neil Bergstrand pulled and he looked like Quasimodo with piles!
