Redundancy Backpedal

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
It has come to my attention that some compulsory redundees have been contacted by manning and asked if they would like to stay in after all. I have names, and have confirmed that this is the case. It would appear that the proverbial has hit the fan at some considerable velocity down at Manning, and that the unprecedented numbers of PVRs going in (77 at the secret Northern GR4 establishment alone in the last 3 weeks) have caused some waves to say the least.

No idea if true but all I can say is hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah.....and I hope that all compulsary guys even if they didn't want it sticks a finger up at them and says well fook you......I find this baffling as I know of mates who applied and got turned down and have since PVR'd..have an out date and have much better prospects than the RAF.....

When all you are is a number what do you expect ?

Crack on.....................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

I bet the bean counters are loving this.

Fewer redundancies so less payouts but still losing manpower.

Lets face it though the money used to pay of people is not really big in the long term picture of things. The people PVR ing are mostly all 22 year plus or below 12 years who dont get a pension but are walking into jobs offshore and getting paid 3 times more. Its a no brainer really.

I just hope the guys that wanted to stay in are the ones that are being reconsidered. Right now there is plenty of options for people who want a careeer to shine on at the moment and this is the time when they will be looking at promotions in the near future as most SNCOs are leaving. (engineering trades)

Do admit its really funny now as most folk have gone past the staying in part now. Never seen morale so depleted ever in 20 years.

Snip ...
If it is like many other government departments; managers will get a percentage of any savings made from the budget.

I can honestly say I've not had any here, but it doesn't surprise me one bit. I am a little surprised, however, that there's been so many PVRs as, historically, you usually get the spike after the last redundancy tranche. Mind you, I do have to agree with Tashy_man, I've never seen morale so low in my 26 yrs in the mob!!!

Unfricking believable! its the kind of clown fest that you come to expect from a chicken sh1t run outfit. whats next? putting techies on the lower pay band? another 2 year pay freeze? I thought I was a lifer but ive done 21 yrs and every day I get closer to 22 I am looking at my options to leave.

As a 'compulsory' I frickin would love to to tear the clown who made that call a new one!!!!! The best thing that could have happened to me... What a frickin clown outfit LMFAO!!!!

What a load of Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If anybody believes this then they should be certified.

Was just about to ask about this, as earlier this week I heard pretty much the same thing from a mate that's still in. It's sad to see that morale is so low and peoples are leaving in such numbers.

Rumour Mill is wrong.

I can say 100% that this is NOT true (From the Horses mouth)

Sounds like blatant rumour mongering to me, some people got the wrong letter (Volunantary letter instead of Compulsory and vice versa) and have been asked if they want to change to the one they applied for (or not) but no-one getting a complete 180.

One person says they can confirm it with names...one says it's not occurring and it's from the 'horses mouth'...

Can anyone sway this rumour towards the truth as at the monet it's 1 -1 and all to play for...

Ahh right, just 2 of my mates (granted i don't think i have 77 mates though facebook says otherwise) have just pvr'd from the OCU. One on the day after he arrived. Two i can believe, (well i have too, I helped one get the job he's leaving for and am helping the other leave to another job) 77 however seems to be pushing it.

I would love to give names (but it would only be 2 not 77), but I would probably be banned....if it helps both were ex-F3, their Warrant is also Ex-F3 (really nice guy as well).

If individuals have been given the incorrect letter they are NOT being given a choice which way they want to leave a correct letter is sent to them!!!

Believe it to be a load of Bull if you want, but I have spoken to two who have been asked to stay in after being given Compulsary......one has accepted...YOU know who you are !!!!!!!!!!
