keep your head up mate, I got charged in basic training for coughing on parade, its all done to try to break you down, just try harder and you will reap the rewards at the end

Take heed of all the advice given. I'm currently an instructor and will say just knuckle down and give it your all, don't let your standards or spirits drop as it will be noticed. If you give your all then the instructors will give you more help then if you get cocky, I've seen it at Cosford. There are those who've been recoursed here and thought they knew it all, needless to say they ended up getting recoursed again and ended up at the last chance saloon, quite a wake up call for them I can tell you.

Oh by the way, what trade are you going for? If it's AMM then there's a good chance you'll be coming my way so you'd best give it 100% (not a threat, just good advice).

Bottom of original post mate.

After everyone who has answered your original request for advice, it would be really good now to hear from you again to find out what you did with the advice given.

No pressure intended but it would be nice to know how you got on.

I was on day 33 of recruit training at RAF Halton last week and unfortunatly failed the CBRN test so was re-flighted to day 21. To make things worse I then failed the day 21 kit inspection. Because of this my flight commander
has now put be on a holding flight for two weeks for extra training. I then have to restart the course on 'Day 00'. I am absolutly gutted, I can't believe what has happened this past week. I have always kept my head down and tried my best throughout the course, and for a couple of minor mistakes I now have to wait 2 weeks to start from the beginning again.
I am scared now that I could get discharged if I mess up again. Can anyone tell me how it works with the amount of times you can be re-flighted before being discharged, or any information regarding the matter. Thanks

Before I start (in this forum) only you know the extent of the failures and other pertinent issues so we all give our opinion and advice based on this and our (often) outdated experiences.

Anyway, having spent some time at RTS on the face of it it seems a tad harsh to be re-flighted for failing a Training Objective you had previously passed. Although procedures MAY have changed since my departure, I am however confident that your case would have been looked at by the Training Officer and his decision (or that of OC RTS) would have taken into account all the relevant points (good and not so good) held on your file. Re-flights are signed off having been looked at independantly.

It would be interesting to know how 'bad' a fail your Day 21 was; if it was a disaster (and subsequent re-inspection) then I am afraid you have only yourself to blame.

While many have said use the opportunity with your new flight, be careful as you have already had the 'insight' into a Day 21......

Keep your head down is of course the key and play the training game but only offer advice as and when required but be careful - some will no doubt see you as a know-it all and others as just another re-flight.

As for discharge, this re-flight seems to be one of those things and you would have to completely mess up from here or show a major attitude problem to be on that slippery slope. There are not many who are discharged and those that have been in the past have been complete numptys!

Best of luck.

Someone was reflighted to day 00 from day 56 on to our flight. He was a right character who applied himself properly and as a result ended up getting one of the best reports at pass out.

It's pants, but just get on with it and keep practicing the things you failed.

I agree with teh wal.... how do you fail a kit inspection. When I was at Cosford you laid your kit out, they inspected it, then you walked downstairs and picked it up off the grass, end of story. Until the next day of course when you had to do it again.

Hope you don't get too depressed with it all......
I failed my kit inspection at Swinderby, ended up doing it on the stairs!

I was reflighted at basic and trade training, it sucks it really does, especially watching everyone you started with pass out and leave but in the end it makes you a better recruit/trainee/airman.

Keep going, push through and you'll get there, it is worth it in the end (honest) :PDT_Xtremez_30:

I too was reflighted back one week and my old flight had one of the best fly pasts. Four Phantoms plus a Nimrod. Poor old me! it fcuking snowed the next week so we passed out in the hanger!

Mate, there is some good advice given here, so just absorb it in, apply yourself as best you can, and if possible, help your oppos out on your new flight.

It sucks getting reflighted at Halton, i was out for 2 months with shin splints on both legs, but you just pick yourself up with it & move on. turned out that the course i would have been on at trade training had a right c**t of an instructor, so in a way, getting reflighted pays dividends.

Keep your chin up fella, and just think about getting to the bottom of the hill for trade training.
