You could overcome all of the things you say you dislike by doing a tour on TCW. Since you seem to have little choice but to stay in TG4, for a while at least, why not give that a go?

Exactly what I would recommend, obviously dependent on whether your line management want to let you go. I will say though, be careful what you wish for, TCW isn't for everyone, although I enjoyed it others hate it for the same reasons.

I think you may have missed the boat this year anyway as the RAFP course starts this month I'm told.

Actually it's in Jan 13 so there still maybe time but you'll need to be quick!

There are other jobs out there that aren't a help desk. Don't rush into anything, especially PVR, as you might not get the same money on civvy street.
