I'd like to know where you got your info from shiney pencil?
As of today (well, lunchtime tues 13th nov!) the intranet does not have the nov chief clerk bulletin up on the ACOS/DACOS/PMA site..........................

Its certainly not a new thing - I can remember a few hairy ar5ed SACs back in the 70's - all waiting to go on their pensions...
Keerist, I can remember a few as late as the the early 90's when we had one guy going nowhere fast and just waiting for that magic 22 years point. Not quite old enough to be my Dad, but he wasn't far off it!

This idea does not surprise me. What's next? Cpls to LOS 30 (Oh already done that) and Sgts to 55? I'd better not say anymore as I am sure that some zob will take these ideas as being the way forward. The hierarchery will always take the easy way out. Can't afford to chuck money at them, but will offer them more years of the same sh*t different day as they are dumb enough to take it.

The information that i recieved is in the Nov 07 chf clks bulletin, however as you correctly note it is not yet on the web. My chf clk actually sent it to me in the first instance.

Whilst I cannot question the amount of experience a 10+ yr SAC Adminer would have, as a supervisor I would be very wary if one was posted to me, as my first and overriding thought would be "Why have they not been picked up after 10 yrs +"

Yes, promotion is slow now for us, but it wasnt slow 3yrs ago when these people had 7yrs seniority.

Personally, I'd rather take an LAC who has only known JPA and wont have the "In the days of SAMA" attitude.

Not that I'm saying JPA is great like......

I think that you should not tarnish all SAC's with the same brush. I am not a 7 year SAC but I used SAMA and I my attitude is nothing of the "in the SAMA days". We have to remember that SAMA was not exactly the bee's knee's either!

The only good thing about SAMA was when it broke or went wrong we knew who to contact or how to make it work. JPA probably Fuchs up just as much but most of us don't yet have a working knowledge of it, unless we are working hard in PSF......

Back on topic, there will be lots of reasons for lots of SACs to accept a 22yr engagement just like there will be lots of reasons for lots of SACs not to accept.

From my own trades point of view we are moving to a new trade structure so we need more SACs out there which is why we need a few extra at the mo.

Has anyone taken into consideration AFPS 75/AFPS 05. Only worth considering if you are still on the former, otherwise you could be leaving after 22 years with half of what you think you will.

QUOTE=enginesuck;179640]Aye all five of them on the mechanical desk !! loads of cpls and a couple of amm's no techies sac / jt to do the dirty work though . Its now the Cpls who are the new sacs.:PDT_Xtremez_17:

Would it not be fair to say, that they are all getting out as fast as possible. I Don't know about all the other camps, however here in swampy land, nearly all the 9 year and above SAC'T and JT's are going when there time ex point is reached. They are not interested in this latest scheme. I commented on another thread that this scheme of 22 years is a panic response for the inevitable skills crisis the air force is going to be facing soon. I have got no interest in saving the senior airships skin for a problem that is of there own making. ::P:
