Right, i have received this from the DMWS:
Hi,

Thank you for your email. The room is a small double (square proportions). We will purchase the paint, but we do not have any other materials. We will try to keep the room clear (it is occupied at the moment!) so can you let me know some weekends that you could get a team together?

Best wishes

Those that are willing to help, can you PM me a list of weekends you are available.

Believe me even if you are not a seasoned DIY type person your help will be grately accepted.

Recent experience in painting anything magnolia. Willing to try something a bit more "colourful" (dates dependant)

laboratoryqueen has asked me to drop in a reminder

Drop a quick reminder into the selly oak thread that we still need a volunteer to get their behind over to mine and collect all this stuff for the hospital xx

Anyone coming south past Durham willing to drop some stuff for Selly Oak of at a Central Lincs base, your assistance would be most grateful.

I have just received this update from Selly Oak:

Hello

We have reviewed the room now that it is empty and feel that at this time the room does not need decorating. I am really grateful of your offer to help with the decorating and if it is ok with you I will keep your contact details should we change our mind in the future.

With regards

I've spoken to her on the phone this morning and they would like to take us up on the offer either later this year or early next year.

To all those that offered their assistance thankyou and standby to standby.

i hope you've all had your weetabix, and are ready to repel borders, it looks like there's a campaign to stop anybody standing by! (see picture below)

I wish I could come and help but I don't think I'll be able to, (you know how it is, a bad cold, gammy leg, sore back etc:PDT_Xtremez_15:) but it sounds like a great project and I'm glad to see that people still rally round for a good cause (it's not something you see that much in Civvy Street any more), this is the side of the forces that rarely gets any national coverage.

So have fun people and I hope it goes well.
