your trade is over manned at the moment, i work with alot of stackers on the wing and they have been told the same thing about promotions

Patience my dear boy, all good things will come to those who wait.

Current promotion is going to be tough for the next 5 years, its a fact of life and the trade will shrink a bit more. In the early nineties promotion Dried up for 6 years, and many 12 year SAC's were the norm, not right, but still a job and a chance to see the world.

Like all things the wheel turns full circle. My advise to you is to concentrate on your training and be the best you can. I am now a Sgt so crack on. You could be working for me.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

It will come if you do your best chap ! Times look to be tough, but I doubt there will be a total ban.

Anyway, good luck with your training and hope your dream sheet comes true :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Rumours are a funny thing because I was told by my boss the other day that there were 156 empty SAC slots, that was the reason I was turned down for an any trade OOA.

That was about a month ago now I think.

Off TopicThis is the RAF... we all know we dont allow the truth to get in the way of a good rumour mate! :PDT_Xtremez_19:Off Topic

I should think your greatest concern regarding promotion is gaining the opportunity to sign on for 22 years in order to complete a 'full' career, particularly if you've only signed on for 9 years in the current climate. I speak as a techie but the situation for us is much the same, where refusal of rengagement to 12 or 15 years could be a cheaper solution than redundancy.

Career!

Career!

Speaking as a Supplier of one or two years standing, I do own my own Farah Stay Press and am an identified static hazard, I encourage any SAC to take what ever training they can get from the RAF/MoD and leave.

The RAF does not value its Logistics (Supply) trade at all - We can not hide behind C17's or Bowsers like our Movs and Driver second cousins (In the Norfolk sense!)

Take solice in the fact that we will be missed when we have gone. If only because our MOVER Officers (They dont like being Suppliers) wont have any one to manage when there is no LSS.

Consider the RLC or Army before we are all forced to move across or go to univeristy and earn more money.

Rack, Shelf , Bin is not a mantra, its a job people! RAF Police and Stewards were considered for CT training on VITAL - WTF

The word Career is an anagram of Carerer - Soup spillers of the world unite and take over!

Sounds like someone who has been passed over has a bit of sour grapes!

Must try harder is a good quote!

I'm sorry, is that for real or are you a wind up merchant ? Shouldn't you instead be encouraging them to make the most of every experience they have, and let them to make up their own minds instead of encouraging negativity ?

Kim Wipe if you check out the posts of this experianced individual i think you will find they are on a fishing trip or just a complete c0ck.

If the RAF got shot of all the dead wood within supply then promotion might be a little better. How many people out there are downgraded and how many people have no intentions of putting the physical effort in to pass a simple fitness test. And these are the sort of people who get picked up before the people that try hard. There are to many good stackers leaving the RAF because there are to many mongs spoiling our trade!!!!!!

Exactly how is that related to someone's ability to carry out their primary duty?
