Ooh Stacker4ever!

You must be bored posting on here...nice wind up mate. Got a few biters there!

:PDT_Xtremez_14:

I hear you didn't get your dream job out here...sorry mate. You're more than welcome to visit any time she says you can!

Fcuk me your still alive then! Your not wrong mate havent done c0ck all today my IGS must be red hot!

May be out in the summer as i have looked on the goverment web site and our usual destinations seem to be off limits to brits at the mo. You know how she likes to visit the poor people!

I have personally served 13 out of 21 years on TSW and have thoroughly enjoyed every experience thrown at me. For me, it is as previous posts have stated the comaradrie you share with everyone that I haven't found elsewhere in Supply. And before you ask, I have worked in most parts of Supply and I'm now at a tri-service unit where I spend most of my time packing boxes and raising Airway Bills. Certainly not the most exciting job i've done and thats why I keep coming back for more. The Wing isn't for everyone and that can be equally said about SCAF, Tech Stores, RMF, etc, at the end of the day TSW is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it!

Tsw

One idea to put forward sees ALL of Supply becoming TSW like the Movers AMW model.

That would create a niche for RAF Supply. TSW primary role was to set up Supply Sqns in the field, the fuels thing was an ad on that has become a beast.

Lets not forget that when in the 1990's, the RAF Regt treid to take over the RTR role from TSW but couldnt manage it and that whilst the Wing is fully manned with volunteers, that you are safe in you little bubble.

Should all SAC's be posted to TSW after LSTS Halton to gain fuels experience? How many would WANT to return to the mundanity or Rack, Shelf, Bin after the freeedom and mobility of the Too Stoopid for Words lifestyle?

Noooooooo most certainly not! All LAC's should be posted to a flying unit to gain basic supply knowledge and do at least one OOA so the little darlings go there with a bit experiance at least knowing what it is like to go away from home for 4 months. There isn't the time on TSW to be wiping babies arses!!! :PDT_Xtremez_14:

No way. As RAF Bird says you have to get the basic knowledge first. Not just rack shelf bin but to grips with MJDI and how unit supply works.

Add promotion into the mix. Should a person be posted upon promotion to a unit following their whole career so far on the wing, they would have the same base experience as a new LAC, without the advantage of the Supply school fresh in their minds. Not good for the unit, and more so the individuals career.

No LAC should ever be posted straight onto the wing. Personally i think at least 3 yrs on a MOB before the wing. This would be the minimum time required to, firstly begin to look after yourself in forces life and secondly give a bit of understanding about the whole trade. Then when your big tough and loving the smell of AVTUR you will be welcome.

Just a small note, not all of the wing is made up of volunteers at present!

And quite a few volunteers trying to get away at the moment. Too much of a good thing at times with the need to move back into RSB for break.

Happy times at last !!!

Very true Gillo, and from what i hear not many volunteers to replace those wanting away at the mo, so let the big ****ty stick begin swinging!!

Norman you clearly havent checked out the thread on that. Apperently we havent got it as he heard from a hamster who knew a dog that was mates with a horse that was used in a hunt by a guy that knows the pencil supplier to the CAS who told him to keep under his hat.
