This is from the pension society articles in pathfinder and the full articles have the positive and negatives, they aren't hiding anything they are trying to explain any small benefits
They then use the term State Pension Age for when you will be due your service pension, for a lot of young kids just joining, who probably don't really care for pensions at this stage, they could be 70 years old or more by the time they get their service pension, I'm in my 40s and my State Pension age will be 68. If you leave at 40 that's 30 years of missing inflationary rises compared to 15 years for the AFPS 75 Scheme, the value of fixed payment over 30 years will have dropped to next to nothing when compared to what it was when payment started.

The pension will be rising in the background the EDP will be a lot smaller but as you say it will be paid for 30 years! despite only having to work 20 (or whatever the length is now) which is similar to guys joining now on 05 anyway I think
It's something that won't affect me but I find it annoying when they sell the positives whilst down playing the negatives, which could lead some individuals not making extra provision.

The only good thing is you'll be pretty wealthy when your 70.

It wont effect me either other than my taxes will be paying for it and also topping up the allowances for those that don't make any provision.
My point is not that the new pension is as good as the old one; but that the few years many people who are ranting about leaving before it comes in will not make much difference to them if they go March 15 or March 16/17.
 
Sssshhhhh, let them go, I'm mediocre at best but if they all jump ship I might get promoted before my 22.
