OK, lets find out how many were from Brize that got picked up. Ooooh thats right, ***** ******was the Specialist Officer....AGAIN !! Probably about 25% of the board, still its not what you know..............

Mate,

Thats a bit harsh.... putting someone's name on here is very naughty. Hopefully it'll get MOD'ed quickly.

I haven't heard of anyone at Conz that has been picked up but I'm sure the rumours will start over the next few days.

BB has made a good point though!! Last year most of Brize's Cpl's got promoted thanks to who was sitting on the board!! Deja vu.....No fear of my name being banded round at Conz by the way...

I never said it wasn't a good point. Promotion board always is a dodgy subject bound to upset some. I just meant it was naughty of him to put someones name on here but it has benn MOD'ed now.

It's like the old saying it's not what you know it's who you know. I don't believe in any of this assessment malarky cos if you've got friends in high places then your always gonna be onto a winner.
 
Well it's ratified and I would hazard a guess that the offers will start flying out of the door from next week. Wait and see who gets selected before pre-judging would be my advice.

Sorry Salty but you are absolutely wrong, the specialist member is the 3rd member of 3 and his advice on the technicalities and difficulties associated with different jobs is vital in the selection process. All 3 members mark all individuals who have been pre-boarded and the marks they collecively award form the basis for the PSL.
 
that was my understanding anyway. You mean to tell me that one person can brow beat two others into choosing who he wants? Smacks of bitter and twisted
 
There was a very interesting comment in the Presidents Report which is on the ACOS website as well, mmmmm doesn't bode well if you aren't on a busy MOB.

Already out mate. Congrats to those that made it with special congrats to the cracking little stacker out here who got it. Bl00dy well deserved fella.
 
Yep the lucky one's at Conz seem to know as the names were flying around today. Congrats to them who got it and good luck to the couple that are just outside the number they need.

Got to agree with you RSB, that statement will have a flood of gen apps to leave our place, due to career stagnation. Can't see a swell of applicants for instructor duties either.

Mind you the statement that 'one individual had two consecutive reports missing' would have me hopping mad if I was him/her !
 
Have heard that there is one at Conz no name as individual not been info'd and definately know of one at Waddo but believe you are correct quite a few at Bz.

having sat on 2 boards, 1 as specialist, you are told to declare to the other 2 if you know the individual you are scoring. I did, there were no underhand tactics to get people promoted. When we came to a report I had written, I declared and didn't score, we would then take an average of the other 2 guys score and that would be mine, this was my idea so no one could then point the finger of favouritism.
It opened my eyes and even cynical me thinks it is probably a fair system, although we banded around the possibility of an interview panel to make it more open.
I cant speak for the guys who did the stackers panel however, if it is the same guy all the time why not persuade your WO/SO3/2 to have a bash.

Mmmmmm remind me not to waste another four years of my life at said location!
 
The Trade Sponsor is being lined up to do the promotion boards from next year so it becomes a fair process, we all know the rumours that were flying around after last years board and it took some believing that the same individual would be sitting on the board again but guess it's down to luck at the end of the day




on another note I know of 2 at Lyneham and 1 at Leeming



the word on the street is 15 immediates and the target was 28 IIRC
