I have heard that they are trying to claw back the jump in pay 11's got when we moved to TG4 back in '09, Apparently we were only supposed to go across with the smallest jump in pay and dropped levels rather than stay on level and big jump in pay.

Has anyone else heard of this. I know of one person being informed of him owing nearly £9k.

Apologies if this topic has been started else where. i tried to find if it had but found nothing.

This has been known about for some time now, I thought it had all been written off? I certainly know of a couple of lads at 90 that had theirs written off, oh and by the way ha ha ha!

This situation happened in the Home Office and a number of people said they would go to court to prove that recovering the money would cause them great hardship - the overpayment was written off.

Much like the aipgate that was swept under the carpet... Until pow!

Being EX-TG3 and already High Pay Band I will not have that issue........ Ah...Karma for Ex-TG11???.......... ::P:

In most trades(?) if you're on the top payband in your rank, to stop you losing out on pay, you jump a level or two on promotion.

TG3 SACs were on higher payband, so if they were on the upper pay levels, so as not to drop pay, they jumped to level 2 or 3 on promotion to Cpl, also on higher payband.

TG11 SACs were on lower payband. When almagamated to TG4, on promotion, they then moved to higher payband. They SHOULD have gone in on the bottom rung (as this was still a pay increase), but because of automation, they too jumped to level 2 or 3.

At certain bases this was noticed. It was also pointed out to HR who said it was correct. Lots of pushing at JPA finally got them to admit it was a mistake and the whole fiasco began. The debt was written off by most, but the process took years.

If they're looking to claw back the money now on the people that didn't have it corrected, the debt will be even bigger, surely!?

Is this actual gen or just rumours?

I've heard it going around.

Thing is if the AIPs need to be paid back due to the whole "Public Money" angle this should too.

Maybe this will be the beginning of the AIP write off.

Maybe it's the decimation of the trade.

Mind you, I can't see many the ex 11's PVRing if they do have to pay it back, they can't earn the money they are on outside the RAF with the skills they have.

Sticky - if they do 'write off this AIP thing' there will be alot of people who were hit with this a few years ago who did pay back what they owed who could then start a nice bit of legal action to get back what they had to repay and others didn't. They set the precedent years ago by claiming tax payers back treating some trades / people different to other will just open them up to a bigger headache and probably a different legal case.

The whole AIP thing was a cluster from the start with some trades allowed to use things like the management quals from JMLC and others were not (the one that i got caught out on, 3+ years after it was submitted, like a hell of a lot of people), all down to the whims of the trade sponsor at the time!
Even though it was submitted to PSF, checked by a SNCO, signed off by the Chf Clk and then went to PMA and was authorised - it was wrong!

Harsh

Harsh

Can't believe the ex TG3 personnel are not being a bit more kind to those poor ex TG11's.

If being able to type fast and know which numbers to put lines under/through when writing a signal is not worth a high pay band what is? I actually know some old TG11 types who would know how to turn a modem on and off FFS. Those don't come around too often.

Occasionally they would do the turn off and then forget the turn back on bit, but you can't get everything eh?

Load of rubbish pal, I'm on more than I was previously!

Also, with an average salary pension now, all the guys who did not claim a AIP they were not entitled too or were put on the correct pay level as an Ex-11 will be out of pocket every time they receive their pension.

Or so I believe.

I don't recall TG11 ever being on the low pay band - not in the last 15 years anyway! I joined in 2001, and went straight to the high band after phase 2 as a JT - been there ever since. So did your lot take a pay cut when you left us or something?

wait a minute...

wait a minute...

Hang on though. I have an AIP to use? Didn't use it as I was advised to wait for the next rank.

Can I put that in now and backdate it to 2000, I was "ILL advised by the muppets in PSF" too.

Sure if they write it off for the poor peanuts some of whom were very cocky about going across at same level when it was pretty clear (Fraud?) at the time that was wrong then I should get my extra £800 (plus interest surely!)

I know I've been out for years and it wouldn't change my EDP/ pension amount but if we are throwing money at the criminals .....
