The Great Pay jump of April 09........

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
I don't recall TG11 ever being on the low pay band - not in the last 15 years anyway! I joined in 2001, and went straight to the high band after phase 2 as a JT - been there ever since. So did your lot take a pay cut when you left us or something?

Erm.... What? what trade are you? Ex tg11 in my memory (also joined 2001) had a 6 month training course on how to type and process signals and also on the lower pay level until some chap feathered his own nest before retiring on a salary based pension

Int An's Chump. They are also TG 11. The GOOD side of TG 11. Think it was Int An (C) an (Av) if I remember. Witty will keep us right as I have to admit I'm not an expert on what they do. Check the other thread - The Tg 11 Peanut Advice Centre :-D.

Ah yes. My apologies.... I forgot too as the typist half has been pushed to the fore of my mind

Yep! Couldn't believe my luck when I got two trade related threads to winge on in one day!

We used to be Comms (Int An C morse-monkeys) Voice (Int An V - Russian and Arabic linguists) and Imagery (Int An I - those-wot-stare-at-pictures/porn). Some 'genius' decided to amalgamate the 'I's and 'C's into one super Int Trade, which we now lovingly refer to as Int An (?). All the power of both trades, with the competence of neither.

They're looking at doing it again - merging the linguists with the Int An(?) because they think we're all clever enough to do 3 jobs at once, and there won't be any skills fade when we're out of a particular job or post for 3 to 5 years at a time...

By the by, phase 2 for me was 54 weeks long, half of which was morse training. 6 whole months of dits, dahs and slowly going insane....

As a former TG14 PI fella, what happened to the PhotoG side of the house?

I believe (though not 100% sure) that a lot of the Photogs remustered into TG11 on the Imagery side before the amalgamation (as I've worked with quite a few of them), but as far as I'm aware that TG is still alive - albeit very small...

Any Photogs that had remustered into the Int An (I) side of TG11 automatically became Int An (?) along with the rest of us when they stripped away our specialisations. I think when the linguists join us, we should be called Int An (WTF?!?)
