Dr FOD and the Wayward Body.

Dr FOD and the Wayward Body.

I've just returned from an excellent time in the Falklands. It was nothing to do with the provided entertainment though!

In 1435's T-bar we had a TV and video in the corner. The only videos sat on the TV stand were Dr FOD and other priceless vintage flight safety videos.

I always heard that the Falklands were in a time warp but these videos took the pi55!

I guess they could always play them on a huge screen if the argies invade... 'cos there's nowt else down there that will beat them into submission!

The man from LOX

The man from LOX has been given a new lease of life. Was informed yesterday that the man from LOX video/DVD will be used within the new fitters course for AMM's. It must be true a two banana told me. So future generations can enjoy this cinematic masterpiece after all. :PDT_Xtremez_31:

what was the other american safety film?, it had a bloke driving round in something like a wendy, all i can remember is the bloke saying. "i got to get this (somewhere) or the chief is going to have my ass)

at the end the chief is a classic bit of 70's vintage bintage complete with the worlds smallest shorts.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Thats at the end of the LOX vid:

"Safety officers gonna have my ass..."

"...sailor, I'm gonna have your ass..."

I hope I never hear that here in JFH land :PDT_Xtremez_08: :PDT_Xtremez_08:

Ah yes, thats it. i must have been mixing up my vintage safety films with my vintage bintage memories. Night mare when that happens:PDT_Xtremez_34:

The man from LOX is a must see video for any aspiring rigger. Dr Fod is a must for all techy type people (even our knuckle dragging friends). Have just sent the youtube link to all my rigger chums on MSN.

The man from LOX is still shown at Supply Specialist Training as part of the
CGCF/LOX course. A female has made a complaint about it recently so it might have to be binned. She said it was sexist????? Can’t think what she meant. I think it is funny as fcuck until the end, which is the whole point of the film.

Got the one of fat Allan from Grange Hill as an unhealthy Airman as well. classic!

I had a copy but it seems to have gone walkabouts recently. I sent a copy to a fellow goater a while back, think it may have been Scaley Brat but my memory isn't what it used to be. It was accompanied by the man from lox and had a nice sedate soundtrack on the menu screen, ask him and he may be able to get a copy out to you. In the mean time my copy may suddenly reappear.

What was the film with Windsor Davies in it? (Not it ain't half hot mum etc :PDT_Xtremez_26:).

Fairly modern by RAF standards.. even had Tonkas in it.. or was that a Wobbly induced vision.

It was me, I have it at home somewhere. I shall have a hunt around and dig it out. I'll let you know when I find it ::D:

that would be "hazardous op's" still quite amusing we show it to the amm's doing line training as a bit of comic relief :PDT_Xtremez_30:

damn those safe places, i think there is a fail safe in the human brain where as soon as an object in in said safe place, your brain automatically wipes all information regarding its where abouts in order to proptect the safe place....
