My personal favourite is the race between the ferry and the Merc. The bit in the speedboat where Hamster was looking decidely ill was priceless.

On a similar note, sky can shove the new Brainiac series up your hoop !

i did read some where one of the stig was heikki kovalinan the current renualt f1 driver, obviously when the renault went round the track. 5th gear has on thing on top gear and that is the saucepot Vikki Butler-Henderson, grrrrrr. other than that its drivel. Top Gear rules.
 
I just showed the vid to MrsMasher without saying anything first. She reckons it sounds more like Jensen Button and didnt even think of Damon (her fave F1 driver). I have to agree with her having listened again. It does sound like JB.
Its definately not Damon. The Stig is too slim for starters and you cant see the long hair. If you watch the clip closely you get a shot of the back of his helmet and it looks like the lower bit of the back of his head is shaved/closely cut.

But, like I said before, its a made up superimposed video..............surely?
 
Well, I had to have another look, just in case like.
Is it Anthony Davidson? He's a short lad and the voice does sound a bit like him.
We could guess all day long..........
I think the reason The Stig takes a different line to the other F1 drivers is because he knows his track so well and has that advantage over the others.

I can't remember his name off the top of me swede but rumour has it it's that fella who does some of the test driving with them out of STIGGYs overalls. He did that big Bowler episode against that spotty 15 year old on a skate board down the green mile hill. Think he went skidding trough a fence in an Evo on the first attempt!!!!
 
Perry mcarthywas black stig, the one killed years ago.

Now white stig could be a lot of people
Damon hill seems to be a good guess
Russ swift is a stunt driver,not a race driver.and he has grey hair,stigs hair has been seen to be brown
Jonathan palmer went thru my head a while back as
a)hes a good race driver
b)he's worked with JC on his DVD(S)
Mansell is prob the only other likely candidate.

I personally believe the (New, white) Stig is Damon Hill. The hints are all there - STig and DH's lap times are equal, DH takes the Stig line etc etc etc...

DH has guested a few times, but the Stig is a guy called Ben Collins, and has been for a few seasons now. Ben was (semi formally) outed following the publication of RH's accident report.

JC owns the rights to the Stig.
 
A pongo officer I work with knows the Stig and has done a few driving courses with him (taught by the Stig). He is not a famous racing driver.
