Yes, I made sure that the power setting was for UK (220v I think). Unfortunately this new tower's PSU and the motherboard uses additional connectors that my old PSU does not have, so I can't use my old PSU to test it. :PDT_Xtremez_09:

I'm inclined to think its the PSU dude, get in touch with Ebuyer (over the phone is best) and arrange a replacement case.

Incase they ask any question, what is your reasoning for thinking that it's the PSU?

Because theres no life from the PSU correct? I've had a faulty motherboard before, yet PSU still worked fine (ie it came on and the fans started turning etc), hence I knew it was not the PSU (or very unlikely to be)
 
Okay, that makes sense with what I've had happen all those years back. Hmm, shall give it all a check over a few more times. If nothing still works, then I'll get in contact with them.

Are there any LEDs on the Motherboard?

If so, when powered up do they illuminate? This will eliminate the PSU from your enquiries.

Double-check with your motherboard manual that you have connected everything - including the switch cables/loom?
 
Will do, although it's not really got a manual as such. It's got more of an overview of the motherboard that just points to different sections and says what is what. The rest you figure out yourself. :0

Go online to the manufacturer's website - many have manuals to download.
 
Okay, after having reconnected the panel connectors in another order (forgot that they're + and - ). When I connected it up, and flicked the power switch on the PSU the system came to life for a moment before stopping again.

So some power is getting through, although annoyingly the motherboard doesn't properly match the diagram even given in the manual. So it's still a little bit of guess work. :PDT_Xtremez_21:

I can't find the LED that a motherboard normally has to indicate there's power, and it's not mentioned in the manual or diagrams. Any ideas on the fault now that I got power for a moment? I'm thinking it may be a connection I forgot or a bad connection somewhere on the motherboard as I remember my old PC had a similar issue when I first assembled it.
 
Okay, fault fixed. I managed to scrounge another PSU off a mate who upgraded to a higher output PSU when he got his current tower, and so I got the old but very low hours one off him and it works fine now. So your analysis was correct!
