A friend of mine wanted to volunteer for an OOA to anywhere but FI.

She was told by the drafter there was no chance unless she went out of trade, as TCW has swallowed up all the 'money and medal' posts.

I for one would like a few other OOA posts to become available and spread the love. A career faced by FI doesn't do anything to inspire anyone. Before anyone says 'go to TCW then' I volunteered only to be told my Q's wouldnt suit there, and I got sent to 1ACC instead = FI

There are non-afghan posts available. Bahrain and Seeb spring to mind. Less money but great tours. (And no I haven't been to both..!)

Hated my time on TCW. Good unit but i found it was run by a bunch of numpty officers and snco's. No offence. The Sac's and Cpls used to get fked over beyond all belief whilst the officers were never team players and were in it for themselves and always had it cushy on exercises while the real 'men' toughed it and roughed it. Hardly ever saw an officer get stuck in putting a tent up or helping. Infact after one exercise that lasted 5 weeks the lads wanted to go home and they were not allowed because the officer in charge only lived down the road and went home for the weekend! And the SNCO's used to run round like headless chickens, unsure of what to do and picking out the best SAC's to get all the dirty work done for them and the rest got left with either crypto guard or other mind numbingly boring jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you sound very much like an ex 3 sqn guy !!!

OC TCW likes to think that TCW are all SF heroes, loves playing rugby and shouts about how brilliant TCW are when in fact he's taking most of the plaudits for the work that is being done by RAID & 5 Sqn.

OC FGW plays a guitar.

Funniest moment on 90SU was when said newly arrived rugby playing OC TCW turned up and did his first CCS course.

GAS GAS GAS ..... new OC TCW rushed to complete getting his respirator on in the required time constaints.

Reg Cpl .... well done sir .. happy at your efforts ?

OC TCW .. yes cpl

Reg Cpl ... that respirators not going to do you much good when you put it on OVER your NBC suit hood now is it sir ??

in his haste to prove TCW SF skills he had forgotten to remove his hood before putting the repirator on ...

how did the disgraced gary glitter put it ??

LEADER...LEADER...

90SU should be the pinacle of trade group 4 with the ammount of experience here. However it is the arm pit of the RAF, non existant engineering standards who make 1ACC look organised!
