Almost time for the annual bleetfest..Cpl - Sgt board 2013

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
So are you able to answer the question as to why you were uncompetitive "for years"...?

I would judge by the lack of a response he either can't or won't. Anyway not sure that I want to read about how crap his 1st and 2nd RO's are or looking to blame the system in some way.

Spammy I do feel genuinely gutted for you that the latest promotion board has not gone your way and that you will now face ending your (not by your own choice) career at your 22 year point. But it is a competitive field and I would say that you have enough time to put any wrongs right?

I don't mean to sound callous or harsh in anyway, and I wish you well in the future!

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have had a very stressful day.

The reply I had from the UCA was that last year the assessment was weak and this year was too competitive, although no answer was given as to why last years SJAR wasn't ignored as I was told it would be.

I am not doing anything about it this week as I need some time off to compose myself and get my head straight before dealing with the situation and asking the relevant questions to the relevant people.

Apologies to all of you for subjecting you to these rants but I needed to vent somewhere and there is less risk of me loosing my rag and tw@ing someone in Cyberspace.

Well that's it....................

I received a AOC's Commendation this year, completed a OOA, secondary duty as a school governor and passed my fatness test first time, AGAIN.

B Grade AGAIN. go figure and now I'm really passed caring. It's not worth it.

Just went on my first resettlement course, (Career Transition Workshop) quite an eye opener. 18 months left, REFRESHING.

B grade or B+ grade?

Anyone know of someone that was graded as a B+ canditate? And if so did they get read? And if they did get read did they make it on to the PSL?

Only asking as I know that when something new is added to a system/process that they normally try to justify it by ensuring it appears to work (i.e a B+ graded canditate is read and promoted)

If you were released to the PSL early, you could be presented with more than one opportunity
This all depends on the amount of available positions, that you as an individual are able to fill with the relevent "Q's" and trade knowledge.yes granted normallly this doesnt matter as training will be given, but if the drafters have multiple slots to fill and you fill the cryteria for all then they MAY offer you a choice of posting. abviously this choice will get less as they move down the PSL.

totally agree, have known people to turn down offer just because it means moving from certain area's in the east of the UK....only to be offered somewhere in the same area (as if by magic)

I'd imagine this is all very drafter dependent. Most would quite rightly offer you promotion once and once only.

Totally correct - most drafters will offer you a "Promotion" once and once only but there may be a possibility that the promotion comes with a choice of possible "Postings" if you fit the spec for more than one job. i.e. all the ticks are in the correct boxes. These choices will reduce the further down the PSL the manners get and the postings will have been filled.so if you come off the PSL at "1" then you may get the choice of 3 possible areas for posting as oppossed the the "airperson" at 15 that wont get a choice at all. This becomes less likely the higher up the rank chain you go as the possibile slots available become less.
