I often wonder after seeing some of the waste of skin and human tissue that has been promoted why I am still and SAC. Yes i may be blowing my trumpet someone has to, even tho my assements eem to reflect that i am quite usefula nd am not a retard. The fact that i actually work till i drop and I quite willingly have/can/will do jobs that cpls do with out any problems doesnt seem to count for sod all. The problem is im TG1. Slow at the best of times for promotion! Personally i think promotion is a lottery. And with the utter sh1te that is coming from the amm ranks lately the RAF is doomed.

But hey im not bitter i just want to do a job that i actually love doing

I agree with you 100% on this statement. Even more so due to the fact I'm probably one of the few remaining wearers of 'The Bath Taps Of Power' within TG1 as opposed to some of the useless bellends wearing 'The Cats ********'.

However, before we get into the old argument where I am just a bitter and twisted JT alleging that the SAC(T) system has been forced to work, what about SAC Bloggs (Who I personally know) who hadn't even had 3 SJARS as an SAC and wasn't even Q-Ops before being picked up? I'm sure there are a few more like him and he wasn't an isolated case.

97% of my setcion is TG1 fella, and it is following a very predictable pattern - those who have clear potential are getting signed on and those who, in your own words, are "quite useful" are being knocked back. Think of it like Dragons Den, where the RAF is Duncan Bannetine - which would you choose?

Bottom line is those SACs who have done 10+ years have had at least 8 appraisals to convince a promotion board to promote them. It has not been uberly tough to get promoted in all those years - only the last one or two.

But RO's must take their fair share of the blame if they aren't up to the job of writing worthy reports on worthy individuals that will convince the board to promote them!

Which promotion year was that? I will have a look at the President's report because there will be a comment on there about why he allowed someone to be promoted that didnt have the first criteria to be looked at (ie Q-Ops).

I'd like to think this is an urban myth....

Now your asking, I know it's not precise but it was definitely between 2004 - 2007, probably more towards the earlier of that period. Apparently according to my source, he had to complete his Q-Ops on an intensive stay at Cosford before going on to Halton for his TMT. I know him as Monkey Bumhead and I remember walking into Timmies Bar at MPA last year, spying his photo 'Entitled TMEC' stuck to the side of the fridge and thinking, 'What a massive ****!'
