Ive re-opened the thread because, there is a news conference on Sky & no dout BBC News 24 at 15:00 today with some of the sailors involved.

There could be some good points to debate on their comments....

As I suspected, pretty much given the same treatment as the guys in 04. Exploited to the hilt, given a **** time and paraded for propoganda purposes. I know women have a lesser standing in the ME but telling Faye Turney, in isolation for 4 days, that all the guys had been released is distasteful in the extreme. IMHO they have all acted correctly and have certainly 'returned with dignity'.

If Blair had any balls, He would right at this moment be giving the whole Iranian Embassy staff & Ambassador the " Persona non Grata " treatment. :PDT_Xtremez_25:

Well Done and Welcome Home

Well Done and Welcome Home

The Navy and Marine Guys and Girl have certainly done us proud and held themselves with dignity and courage. The chaps that have just held that press conference are very strong and brave men - having faced captivity and psyhcological torture to then face the world Press with such resilience - Well Done!To open their statement with condolences to the families of those killed yesterday was also very appropriate.

I was very touched by their composure and proud to be a member of HM Forces.

Good one lads

Good one lads

Very impressed with the conduct of the guys in the press conference. I had my doubts before it started and felt that it was further prolonging their agony by wheeling them out to the press so soon after repatriation.

However; they conducted themselves in a professional manner for which they should be proud. Hopefully the media will let them come back down to earth in private.

Relieved all 15 are home safe and unharmed. the mental tortre and strain must be terrible. all the best.
im sure the trouble with Iran over various issues is not over.

Yes, a complete Cock, the type of idiot that wants to start a full blown war out of a minor at sea incident, which funny old thing is just what happened in 1964 and led to the cock getting his gongs in the first place (Gulf of Tokin incident off the coast of Vietnam). Plus the Yanks cannot make any comments about this matter as the didn't enter WWII after over a hundred of their sailors were killed in 2 USN destroyers that were torpedoed by German U-boats in 1941, (The USS Kearny was hit by a torpedo fired by a U-boat while on patrol off Greenland with 11 men killed on 17 October 1941 (the ship didn’t sink). While the USS Reuben James was sunk by U-552 near Iceland on 31 October 1941 with the lost of 115 men.) In both cases the US didn’t enter the war, even though they had lost men and material to deliberate attack in international waters (most definitely an act of war). The Yanks didn’t even declare war on Germany after Pearl Harbour, It was the boxheads that declared war against the Spams on 9th December 1941.
