I was in Berlin last week and had my first proper curry wurst for over 30 years. It was so delicious I had another one the next day. Is their a finer food in all the world?

17th November and the Christmas Markets come to Manchester. Currywurst, Gluhwein and Wobbly for the cost of a train fair

Even though I live in Manchester I've never been to the Christmas Market. I think I'll let Mrs Ted to persuade me to go this year.

They're also having one in Belfast,If you can't wait....

Here's the best (and cheapest I've found) to buy the Fatherlands greatest..

Thanks Spike, I didn't think it was as simple as ketchup and curry powder, I expected it to be a more complicated process to produce such a tremendous foodstuf.

I usually get the Hela from Germandeli https://www.germandeli.co.uk but it's a bit more expensive than Simply German. I'll have a mooch around he simply german site and see what else I can buy.

The ones i got from a Snellie in Dortmund, where just that, ketchup with curry powder sprinkled on top. Still, after a vast amount of the local beer and snapps, they all tasted good.

Went to the Chrimbo market in Leeds last year on what had to be the coldest day ever in the world...when the temp is that low it's one litre of ice cold German beer in then 2 mins later 1.2 litres out and repeat ad nauseum...expect to be horrified by the prices as well...I found that drinking more beer helped to numb the effect of that though! Time it around the ompah bands performance and happy days!

Well a pint of Wobbly in my local is £3.70 a pint,so expect the price in the Belfast market to be around a fiver a pot.

Personal favourite was a jaegerschnitzel from the Kanteen at the bottom of the married patch in Wildenrath, obviously it tasted different on a Friday night after Beer call than any other night.

Currywurst, mmmmmmmm, only beaten by a good zigeunerschnitzel :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Right thats it!!! Im off down stairs to get the brattys out of the freezer and our Jager sauce mix from the cupboard. up until Teh Wal comments I was doing really well............(any excuse)

I could murder a Chicken Inn Zigeauner Schnitzel about now...Friday night after a beer call, session in the Footy club & then the Crossbow club...yummers!

Right, I've put in an order for some Hela curry ketchup and some bratties. Also some Jager sauce mix. I couldn't get any Gulaschsuppe though, German Deli used to have it but it's not on their product list now. Had to get a tin of Wurstsoljanka instead.

Ahh, I used to love a Jagerschnitzel at the Chicken Inn, bl00dy marvellous, second only to the mighty curry wurst.

The first time I had Bratties & Curry sauce (with chips) was at a mates house, who's dad was in RAFG when he was younger and my mate had eaten it there as a child.

I'd also since eaten it in the mess at Brize a few times, but the first time I ever had proper currywurst was in a local shop near Innsbruck I think, in a village that may have been Zell am Ziller.
I was on a Euro-road trip with a mate and we had a night stop somewhere in the area.

The shop owner was closing by the time we arrived, but we managed to convince him to stay open as there were quite a few of us famished and wanting beer, and it was there I had 'real' Currywurst & chips, with curry powder sprinkled on top.

YUMMY! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Currywurst was my staple diet each time I did Deci, all for the princely sum of 2000 Lira (90p).:PDT_Xtremez_19: The Hela sauce is brill.

Washed down with a drop of the finest vintage Deci Red from a plastic jerry can.....:PDT_Xtremez_30:
