Yay, finally got my first unit finished.

Well done to everyone thats involved with this, we are now 11000 ish out of 56000 in the rankings.

Bugger! Halfway throught my third WU it decides to connect, re-send the results of my 2nd WU and thendowload and start a new WU.

Two days folding down the tubes:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Tashy Man, how have you done 56 units???? Mine have all been massive 3-5 day ones!! (and thats using 99% CPU)

Me thinks it's a bit of a c0ck up on folding@home. I eventually got around to getting the kids computer networked and installed the software on that one also.......seemed to hang for ages and has never completed a unit but suddenly my WU's went way up !!......Have done 8 or 9 proper units and like you most of mine are 3 to 5 days

My next one may take longer as i've just got Trackmania United and its very addictive.......slows down folding though...oh well

Fold on..........:PDT_Xtremez_09:

4th WU finished!

Hey team its looking good you know, EGoat is sliding up the rankings!!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

It'd be more heartening I think if the work units were smaller! Each one takes bloody ages, I wonder how many get bored with it and delete.

E Goat - Team 8552 of 59173

Not bad! Just finished my second chunk. Ooer missus

My machine only gets to help out on the weekends. So, I'm red faced here, I am half way through my first unit. Hopefully it will be finished this weekend :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Every liitle bit helps. Mines ploughing through a 20,000 frame fold at the moment and has been doing so for the last few days.

I signed up...my computer is doing 'something' and I entered the team name at the start although I can't see myself on the team stats yet...

Apart from that it's all a total mystery...What fooking slider? How do you know what WU you are tackiling? What the fook am I on about??

Signed up yesterday Vim, think you need to get a workunit (WU) under your belt before you join the team list. My first is chugging along at a pitiful rate........... May be done before I go build sandcastles....

If you get the no nonsense version HERE when you first run it, select yes to "run as a service" and it'll tick over nicely in the background, even if someone else is logged on all day!

And from a previous post here (thanks TLS!!!)

No-Nonsense client works a treat. If you don't want the window sitting in your taskbar while it runs then set it to run as a service. The only problem is that it then disappears completely, so, if like me you want to know how your progress is, you can dowload a 3rd party add-in.

I recommend FoldingFromTray. It's free and easy to use. Download it from here and then just drop it into your Folding@Home folder. When you run it, it opens a window with progress info and easy access to the log file. You can download a small piccy of your protein if you want too.

It closes to the System Tray if want quick access or you can exit completely. For those of you running multiple sessions on dual/quad core processors, you can select which session you want to view info from too.
