To financially penalize someone by docking their pay for refusing promotion (albeit temporary) is just scandalous and asking for some sort of industrial action.
Proof, if it was needed. Cllr Coleman, chair of the LFB tabled an emergency motion proposing the removal of 27 appliances and the reduction of 500 firefighters. This is a time when both sides need to calm the rhetoric and get involved in serious talks, yet Brian Coleman feels the need to throw petrol on this particular fire.
