Fitness/Gym during work

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
How many is plenty? Unless I've been surrounded by pure gebius my whole time in I can't recall a single sacking for trade work...I've seen one or two assigned to bay duties because they were more 'suited' to that kind of steady work...

Personally I have dealt with about a dozen over an 18 month period, whilst in AIR casework. As KG suggests, and also what I hinted at as well there are invariably other issues as well that are in the mix with these cases.

A sad reality though is that many of these inefficient people just get transferred to other sections as the chain of command either can't be bothered to deal with issue appropriately or haven't got the moral courage to do something. In my experience the worst offenders seem to be the techie world with my own trade not to far behind.

Hopefully staying on topic here but I don't suppose anybody knows what the policy is doing the RAFFT whilst on leave? Have asked PEdO but was not 100% sure (insurance etc).

Currently out of date, no fault of my own due to unforeseen extention to my op tour recently which had put back my intention to do it prior to taking leave. Currently on leave now but wanting to do it ASAP to cover one's ar5e before questions are raised before returning to work late March. Cheers all.

Just do it then, if you are on local leave.

I had the same problem. I had to stay on camp an extra few days to do my test before I could take my 6 weeks leave as I was going home then away on holiday so I wasn't local. I would agree with Snowball. If you are local pop down for an hour and get it out the way, saves a lot of crap when you get back.

You are on duty when you take the test. Get your friendly adminer to cancel your leave for that day.

Roger to that, I suppose once passed and it's on JPA I could always get that day reaccredited to my leave balance.

My overriding concern is if I undertake it whilst on leave and something happens, particularly to my knee as I hold a A4G1 MES, work won't be too pleased (my bosses are Army on 5 Sqn are pretty unsympathetic and love throwing out AGIs) if I do it during on non-duty time and it becomes a long term issue for them.

Thanks for direction on this thus far all.

They cant AGI you if you get injured. What if you sprained an ankle while out for a run when on leave? Same thing.

They also can't AGAI you if you are a member of the RAF in an RAF unit (the first A in AGAI stands for Army); they can, however, instigate MAA iaw JSP 833.

The Army's AGAI Chapter 67 on Admin Action roughly equates to the RAF's AP3392 Vol5 Leaflets 127-130.

Proud to serve!

It's bad enough having the Army think that their regs apply to us let alone having members of the RAF think that they apply.

RISE vs CDRILS
(and anyone who gets that is as sad as I am).

Nice pictures of you on Facetube I hadn't realised that you were young once.

I know of plenty of instances where individuals have been dismissed for trade inefficiency even though they have been in date for RAFFT. However, generally those who are trade inefficient are also poor in other areas like fitness and discip matters as well.

I find it is quite the opposie, those who spend a lot of time down the gym neglect their primary duties and incidentally are useless (not always). I dont know of anyone who has been dismissed for trade inefficiency, but plenty for failing their fitness tests because they devote themselves to their primary duties rather than promotion grubing useless f*%ks.
