Howard "I am a homer" Webb

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Berbatov dived for his pen and Webb got it wrong. It happens though, hell even Liverpool do it, especially Gerrard, who is famous for it.
Webb got the sending off spot on though, dangerous 2 footed lunges are red card offences.
As for Webb being Manure biased, well perhaps he's countering Clattenburg being bias for Liverpool?
Liverpool lost the game, man up, pad in and move on. These things even themselves out over the season and lets be fair, Liverpool have had more than their share of decisions over time.

In the pub after the match just outside the ground. Have just been told by the dibble that lots of loveable, cheeky Scousers have been arrested inside the ground for "smashing up the toilets etc.". Thought they would have been used to losing by now?
As for the ref it's not like Liverpool have ever been awarded a dodgy pen at the kop end, or Gerrard has ever dived in two footed (Everton a couple of seasons ago?)......Stop yer whining, there is nothing more to discuss here, move on.

and of course fergie would'nt have moaned if the boot was on the other foot would he ????
Thats presuming he would have come out and talked or spat his dummy out as per usual

Howard Webb has awarded 4 penalties to utd out of his last 6 visits to old trafford. Interestingly in 2009 he was dropped to the championship after he awarded a penalty to utd when they where 2-0, a game they went on to win 5-2. Webb later admitted he was wrong to award the penalty

But surely, when utd are at home, most of the possession is in the opposing half. So surely they are going to get more 'opportunities' for penalties. Not just utd at home, but any team. Except WHU!

But 4 pens from the last 6 home games he reffed and demoted for a penalty that never was. By your logic utd should be getting penalties every time they played at hone. This isnt happening.

I said 'opportunities'. To get clarification, and end this. Find out how many penalty appeals were given to utd. Then ratio to those awarded would give a clearer indication of ref bias.

Justintime, get over it! We can all point to matches where our teams should have been awarded penalties and weren't and also when they have been awarded against us and shouldn't have been. It's part of the game that will continue until they introduce technology to decide whether a decision is right or wrong; even then not all of us will agree.

I remember years ago when Fowler 'won' a penalty against Seaman and protested to the ref that it shouldn't have been awarded but the ref carried on regardless and Fowler still had the audacity to score:PDT_Xtremez_42:

It was a poor match played by 2 (on current form) poor teams that was only memorable because it was settled in that manner. If I was a Scouser I'd be more worried about who Dalglish is going to buy in the next 3 weeks than something you can't change now.

Fella that would be the Spurs game. Took my missus for her first visit to OT to see that game, and from where we were, it was defo a penalty :PDT_Xtremez_30:

The league is geared up in utd's favour. Every ref is a utd fan. Liverpool were robbed and the only reason they won't win the league is cos the world is against them. Everyone should protest against what happened on Sunday cos it's not fair!

Happy now just in time? You miserable whining excuse for a football fan. Get rid of the chip on your shoulder ffs. Consider the trophies and success you've had over the years compared to those of us who dream of such silverware. Some of us just pray our club still exists next season. W@nker.

No he didn't, McAteer scored from the save made by Seaman. I can't belive it's been brought up as Rafas fault! It's pretty much the same squad that finished 2nd 2 seasons ago just without Alonso. I did wonder why nothing was made of the Fabio tackle as it was 2 footed and off the deck but I suppose some you get caught for and some you don't.

Apparently Webb claims that fabio had his feet on the ground and gerrard didn't. Make of that as you want

Fabio must have certainly made some tackle from the subs bench.....

As it was his brother Rafael at right back ;)

In real time, I thought that we COULD get a penalty here when Berba went down, as from the original camera angle it looked like a trip. Then when I saw a replay of it, im sorry it was a dive. Even though there was contact, it was minimal.

As for the Gerrard incident, I said to my missus that he will be walking for this. That was real time, and the more I watched it the worse it became. He could have broken Carricks leg, which although would have been a blessing for us, isnt something you want to see in a game. He obviously wanted to get his side going again, but it was reckless.

Moving on to Rafael, I think the major difference between them is that he never tried to go through his man. He jumped up and planted his feet together, a good foot away from Merieles who had already chickened out of the tackle. He could have cleaned Rafael out legally if he had wanted too.

If Rafael had caught Merieles, I wouldnt have complained at him gettting sent off either.

Are you sure you weren't in the lounge eating your prawn sarnies ;-)

LOL, we were in the South Stand, about 20 yards from the Spurs fans, atmosphere was brilliant cos at 2-0 up, they were a freakin nightmare. 2nd half come back, I thank you Mr Webb, was just brilliant :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Howard webbs kids have denied that their dad is a secret man utd fan, 'he is totally unbiased' said alex, george, bobby, david and cristiano.

There you go it's official, totally unbiassed

Anyone see the stuck on pen Birmingham should have got last night? Don't see any of their fans moaning on here today. They seem to have a good grasp of the reality of football and not think the whole world is against them! Look and learn bin dippers!
