Liverpool

Liverpool

Liverpool CIO, 1992, for me, both initial application and attestation (the first one anyway).

Always have a little chortle when I remember that the CIO was situated (and probably still is, been a while since I've been back) opposite the Crown courts. Out of one straight into the other? :PDT_Xtremez_17:

Initial Interview at a CIO just off Trafalgar Square in 97

Tests and such at a place near Tottenham Court Road station. When I did my final test I was mugged at knifepoint for the £20 I had on me. Luckily that was before I went down Denmark Street to blow a wedge on plastic! 1998

Oct 1987 Ilford CIO.

Always liked going for the interviews and stuff because it was an excuse for a day out in London afterwards.

Middlesborough CIO Jan '86 :0 I vividly remember the WRAF Flt Lt, rather dumpling shaped with outrageous blue eye shadow that I swear was applied by sticking her thumbs in the pot and smearing it across the top of her eyes.

By the way ........ It's not grim oop north, we just tell you southerners that so you stay the fukc away :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Hull CIO for me - 14th May 1985.

Same day as a bloke from my home town who I hadnt met till then. He subsequently became known as Windy during training, too many beans I think.

Went to York CIO for initial interviews and tests. That place closed down and I had to go to Leeds for the final interview with the 'bread knife' and finally attestation in July 95.

Fountain street CIO in Manchester in Jul 1991, Despite being a Highlander. Long story......

I was another one who joined at Fountain street in Manchester, attested on the 19th and went to Halton on the 20th which as it happened was my 17th birthday, what a day that was.

"but but but cpl it's my birthday today........":PDT_Xtremez_09:

10 Jan 1990 at Reading CIO, train to Swinderby the next day, thrown out of the pub opposite Newark Northgate after we stopped for a swift one when there was no bus to meet us.

18th birthday whilst at Swinderby, memorable (not by me!) day sesh in Lincoln hitting the Flaming Sambucas before retiring to the Bop and the attention of a young Waffy on the same intake by the caravans!

Ah the memories...
