I was another one who joined at Fountain street in Manchester, attested on the 19th and went to Halton on the 20th which as it happened was my 17th birthday, what a day that was.

"but but but cpl it's my birthday today........":PDT_Xtremez_09:

Apparently it's no longer there, but I can't attest to that (excuse the pun)

Afterwards we all went to the pub over the road, I can not for love nor money remember what it was called, might have been the duke of wellington or something

Did my aptitude tests and interviews at Leeds CIO and attested at Sheffield as they had closed the Leeds CIO down!

Carried my aptitude at Bournemouth CIO, in 1987, but had to travel to Southampton for my attestation. I was walking back towards the train station afterwards and realised I hadn't signed anything, went back, signed on. I often wondered what would have happened if I hadn't gone back!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Did everything at Cardiff CIO on St. Mary's Street (was a combined RAF/Army CIO) on 16th Apr '85.

I now have 7 days left officially in the RAF (inc today).......my career is nearly at an end....thank feck !

Crack on.....................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Hanover Street, Edinburgh CIO 17th Oct 78

Didn't get the trade I wanted, somehow got Shanghaied into a trade I failed the training on and ended up a photog. Something I had never been interested in or done before.
Haven't got a clue how I got through the subsequent 23 years, 1 month and 4 days but with the comradeship and guidance of colleagues, seemed to to okay.

Even the cr@p times were good

Aberdeen June 98, then went and got pished in Slains Castle. Arrived at Halton in July and attested there, longest hangover of my life.

Well I'm not telling, the Thought Police are out there don't you know.........:PDT_Xtremez_35: :PDT_Xtremez_31:

Sunderland CIO for me but had to go to Scumcastle to attest, then again I did get £50 in my hand although I subsequently found out it was an advance, spent it in the 'Toon' on the lash with the 2 other lads that signed up the same day 08/01/1991 think they were L Tech TC

Sunderland CIO has since closed down and is one of those fancy coffee shop type things nowadays, what the fcuk it's doing in Sunderland I don't know

Reading through all these posts, I can't help thinking that the CIO opposite the bus station in Gloucester has a lot to fekkin answer for.

Liverpool CIO, November 18th 1986 with DodgySootie, we got the train to Swinderby and met Sumps who ended up as our senior man on our Mechs course APM 101.

Always remember travelling back upto Liverpool in DodgySootie's white escort Mk1 which he bought for £50. A right shed but it never let us down.

Signed up in Glasgow AFCO, 1999.

Attestation was actually at Halton.

Strange how my career is about to go full-circle:PDT_Xtremez_42:
