Rigger to Sooty (1238) and Sooty to Rigger (1239) courses have been running for a while now so fellow techies of either or both trades a few questions for you to consider. Some in the poll above and some to debate.
If you have done the course does this make you a split brain?
How many have not done the course for what ever reason such as OOA or can't be ar$ed etc?
Is it a few weeks on the pi$$ and chance to escape the wife or of some value?

I throw it open to the wolves to debate/discuss the merit or otherwise of multiskilling.

How come you are running a poll but none of the questions you are asking are available to select in your poll?

This may cause some upset, as did some of my goat comments regarding Mech ToSs prior to the great goat crash, amongst the higher members of the food chain in the morale vaccum but here goes. Despite the best efforts of some of the destructors to make the lessons relevant, you know who you are, they were pretty anal and pitched at utter retard (AMM/rigger) level. Why I had to sit through electrickery I don't know as I have no desire to abuse dogs. As for being used as a pawn in the PTI training programme, well that just took the biccie. In my ever so humble, and the majority of my courses, oppinion everything could be done at local level in the relevant trade "Q" course. The only enjoyable thing, apart from going home, was the chopping up of metal and taking out your frustrations on some poor helpless rivets. Thank fcuk we didn't have the bloke that looks like a fat and mentally impaired version of Sandy from the hit TV series Monkey for that.

It's pointless as I will have forgotten everything by the time I start to circulate in the real air farce again. Still it opens up twice the DWR posts in the sand pit. On that not it sounds like a good time to get out. Roll on tranche 4!!!!!!!

Cos i'm a total IT fcukwit who doesn't know how to set it up properly. Sorry Hu it's not lack of ambition just lack of talent. If anyone can set it up correctly (perhaps a helpful and respected Moderator) then please do so.

Complete waste of fecking time!
Did a split brain Q course and work as one on sea kings.
If anything the rigger to sooty course did more to confuse me as Cosford anally teach jag/tonka crap whether its relevant or not!
As fat lazy techie said earlier in this thread, stick the splitter training into the q course, you have to do a q course anyway and its more beneficial that way.
As I see it-it's just jobs for Cosford (or is it Saints? Ha ha ha!).

Oh........and I hate Cosford!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Complete honest moment here......

I did the course october 2005 (Fairy to Leckie).
After I completed the course, I got stuck in LITS cell.
My on aircraft work has depleted to virtually none.
Yet in October/November this year (with a big push from SEngO) I managed to complete the IP package with a series of breifings from the leckies.

I'm now X500 and all I have done leckie wise is change a PDU. wow!

And I'm still stuck in the LITS cell,
And I'm still trying to dig my way out,
And it's not working!!!!!!!!

Problem is (for some unknown reason) I'm only allowed to moderate the tourrettes/porn/personal abuse/booze/gayers/bad attitude and Equal Ops related threads

You should be able to edit the poll yourself or perhaps a more God Like Mod might do it for you

All the breast

Did the course in 05 and was given a full set of exam questions on my first day by some guy that just finished the course. Of course i had a peek and aced it ! So did the rest of my course.

I learned the following

1) The m6 is still a pain any time of the week

2) Just because im away from home it is not sensible to increse ones overdraft 4 times in six weeks

3) Those who can do - those who cant teach

4) Nobody cares if you become profficient in the new trade as long as you tick the IP boxes. (ie if ground run an aircraft for a rigger component change, and my name is on the job card i therefore must be competant in the system.)

In defence of the instructiors at Cosford, they are like the rest of us, they teach what they are told to teach and don't choose the course content themselves. If the courses at Cosford leave you a little disgruntled then don't take it out on the instructor, been there and done it and if you think it's easy try it for yourself.

Answer to the original question - no it doesn't make you a split brain, there may only be a few of us left but long live the brotherhood of the wheel

What? LITS or your tunnelling? :PDT_Xtremez_17:

Well it was fabeled that in the Deid I had the "big red button" for LITS so I could get some quality pool time in!

I'd say both, but the tunnel collapses as soon as I get anywhere near tunnel like!

Did the rigger to sumpy course at the end of 2006. Waste of time, I'm one of those unfortunate a/c techies who dosn't actually work on a/c, except when they fall out the sky. 3 weeks of my life wasted, Mech TS management are a bunch of cnuts.
