Your not alone fella but the sad fact is that we Techies have just got to accept it, get licensed and get out to receive better wages.

I don't believe the trade sponser (even if interested!) can do anything about it, the higher/lower paybands although getting reviewed will not be changed anytime soon. Techie specialist pay is getting talked about but don't hold your breath!!

FRI might be in the offering for TG2 but not sure about our monkey brothers. Either way, put up with it or do something about it. Not being nasty, just the way it is.

Sorry but the Trade Sponsor has nothing to do with moving trades up or down the pay band - it is a completely different organisation that deals with it.
Pay is always going to be an emotive issue

I'm affraid this is just another kick in the teeth for us techies. Might as well bin the 2 pay scales and go the yank route of being the same for all ranks regardless of trade.

I think this will drive more people to PVR as I for one am really starting to feel devalued as a 4 trade technician. I know people go away on dets etc but why should that qualify them to be put on the higher payband. When I oversign jobs and carry out independant checks I'm signing a legally binding document that will land me on a manslaughter charge if proved through my actions caused a plane to crash. Whats the worse that will happen to our pen pushers oooh a paper cut or calluses on your fingers. I have to do my own admin as JPA takes away the need for adminers and when I do get a problem they tell me to ring JPAC.
