Oh dear Newcastle...

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
I see he's blaming the fact that he didn't manage to get any players in the transfer window, Newcastle may not have the biggest squad but there's plenty of talented players there. It would be a massive shock for the fans if they go down, they seem to think they have a god given right to be in the premiership.

AS I've said before on an other thread, Newcastle ARE NOT A BIG CLUB. THEY NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE. The only reason they have a massive support is because there are no other teams in Newcastle for others to support. If Liverpool, Manchester or Birmingham had one team, they would have to play at Wembley every week.

I still genuinely believe that a season in the Championship will do them the world of good. It worked for Man City after all.

At risk of sounding trite, ROFLMAO.

And yes, I'm a Mackem. :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Queue endless repeats of "I would love it..." when he cracked on Sky Sports. Thats got to be one of the funniest sporting moments ever.

What a shame to see this once great club struggling to pick up a point and Super KK going greyer by the week.....

On no it's not, they aren't a big club, haven't been a big club, never won a trophy for decades and just because the likes of Sky picked up on the lovable Geordies tag when KK was there the first time doesn't mean they should be shown any respect

However it's funny as fcuk on Wearside as we will probably send them down in April, fcuk the great unwashed and their NorthernC0ck sponsors....

Forrest ARE a big club and look what happened to them! If the Toon think it can't happen to them, think again!

As a Newcastle fan I would hate to Newcastle fall into the Fizzy pop league, However, I think that it would do the club good to get relegated. It would get rid of all the dead wood hanging around the club just for the pay packets and we could get some players in who would want to play for the club not just overinflated wages.

If by some miracle we do stay in the Prem I reckon that pretty much 11 new players are needed!

This is a wake-up for the deluded Jawdees.

Excerpts:

Richard Slack, who lectures in finance at Northumbria University, said: “The club was making a loss and owed more than it was worth.
“If the club had been a human being, they would never have been given credit and its house would have been repossessed by bailiffs.”

Steve Wraith, editor of fanzine Players’ Inc, said: “Chris Mort has been on record saying they found a lot of debt when they took over the club and they didn’t realise the full scale of it beforehand. A lot of cracks were papered over.”

The club’s wage bill was £62.5m, up more than £10m from 2006, due to the signing of Damian Duff, Obafemi Martins, Joey Barton and David Rozenhal.
That means 72% – nearly three-quarters – of the money earned by the Magpies is shelled out in wages. Experts say businesses should have a wage bill of no more than 50% of revenue. And the situation could have been even worse had the FA not paid £6.7m in compensation to United after the £17m striker Michel Owen was injured.

Things aren't as comfy as they thought in the 'Land of the Greggs pastie'.

As a boro fan it'd be great if the geordies went down. Will finally shut them up over who is the best north east team. When clearly middlesbrough have been the far more successful.

For some reason some / nearly all newcastle fans have this delusion that every season they deserve to finish in the top 4. The way they play at the minute they'll be lucky to finish above the bottom four! Think even sunderland are more likely to survive than newcastle. As at least sunderland can win at home! Newcastle just don't look like they'll pick up many points.

It's stupidly tight at the bottom this season, 4 points seperate 12th to 18th, with most the clubs having to play those around each other!

Reading the Times today (Monday 03/03/08) they ran an article about Newcastle's precarious position and from their remaining fixtures the Times calculates 34 points max so down you go if that pans out. Even if it's 6 points wrong they are still in big trouble. As has been mentioned elsewhere first time round KK damn near bought a new squad to get results this time he has to MANAGE the present squad to get results. There is in my view a big difference between the two.

Well our lads entertained Newcastle at Anfield yesterday, and I'm sorry to say it but the barcodes were desperately poor. The fans as usual did their bit, but it ain't enough to have great supporters, the players have to do their bit.
Newcastle's midfield is almost non-existant, and things only got worse when Milner departed just before half time.
OK the first goal was a complete fluke, the sort of thing that happens when you're in the mire - a clearance that struck Pennant and looped in over Harper, but the for second and third goals Gerrard and Torres simply carved Necastle open.
The only glimmer of hope for Newcastle came when Obafemi Martins came on and injected some electric pace up front to accompany the sorry looking Owen. An angled 'over the shoulder' shot from about 25 yards left Reina staring into the sun as the ball dipped over his head and struck the crossbar.

I reckon by the end of this month will tell us whether Newcastle will stay or go. I'd like to feel sorry for them, but I'm a Sunderland Fan!

I'd Love it, Love it if we sent them down on 19th April.

Think again mate, the dirty barcodes can't even score a goal, our home record will keep us up, great to see your shower of sh!te doing so well at heading south....

What great home record is that? Remember you are still below us in the table, and where are your goals gonna come from? Good god you'd think you and the smoggies were challenging for europe the way you's are crowing on.
