Oh dear Newcastle...

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
We've won SFA since 1973 - 35 years ago.

But then again, we do not consider ourselves "Massive".

We do not expect to fill a top 4 slot at the start of every season.

We do not sp*nk £16 million + god knows how much in wages on a striker who clearly never wanted to sign for you until stupid money was offered.

We don't re-employ a tantrum-prone quitter as a manager.

We have a genuinely nice guy as a chairman, instead of that obnoxious piece of sh1t Sheppard, followed by that fat Spurs fan who squeezes into an XXXL Mag top on matchdays.

Face it, you are currently a bigger laughing stock than we were 2 seasons ago. Even Derby took 4 points off you.

You may not go down, but hell, you are gonna get laughed at until you manage to survive.:PDT_Xtremez_31:

What are these expectations I keep hearing about? We haven't won anything in 39 years all we want is to see the 11 players on the pitch putting a shift in, and trying to beat the opposition.

Cheers for beating the great unwashed today tho, might keep them quiet for a few nanoseconds.

No problem. I'm looking forward to playing you in May so we can improve our goal difference.
The expectations (unrealistic ones) are plain and painful to see. You've not won anything in my lifetime but the fans think you should be winning the league.

Think you've got us mixed up with Liverpool i'm afraid, win the league? Compete for europe possibly. But I haven't expected us to challenge for the title since the 96/97 season. By my reckoning we've been in transition for about 8 out of the last 10 years. So challenging for anything hasn't been on the cards. But tell me what fan doesn't hope at the start of the season? What would be the point otherwise?

Interesting. I heard a Newcastle fan on a phone-in to Talksport the other day who claimed that all the Geordies really want is to see their team play attractive football. Winning trophies isn't top of the priority list at the moment.

I'll rephrase my earlier post:

Win the league? I've maybe hoped for European Qualification in a few of the recent seasons based on pre-season signings and blind optomism. However I haven't expected us to challenge for the title since the 96/97 season. I'd have to concur with what the guy on talksport said, winning trophies is not even on the agenda for the next few years at least. Getting the team playing exciting football and indeed staying in the league should be our medium and short term goals respectively.

Lets face it. Playing EXCITING football for Newcsatle let alone winning trophies isn't even on the agenda for the next DECADE..... minimum!!!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Right lets forget the sniping and banter for one second.

Not entirely sure where I should post this or if it's entirely appropriate for here. But the following item is being auctioned off by a mate from one of the Newcastle forums i frequent ( www.toon-talk.co.uk). It is being auctioned off in order to raise funds for a tribute to a fellow Newcastle fan who tragically lost his life in a freak accident this weekend.

Would figure there'd be plenty of interest seeing as how its an England shirt rather than a Newcastle one too

Just thought I'd try and advertise a good cause (In my eyes at least) if it isn't appropriate mods feel free to delete.

What a shame to see this once great club struggling to pick up a point and Super KK going greyer by the week.....

On no it's not, they aren't a big club, haven't been a big club, never won a trophy for decades and just because the likes of Sky picked up on the lovable Geordies tag when KK was there the first time doesn't mean they should be shown any respect

However it's funny as fcuk on Wearside as we will probably send them down in April, fcuk the great unwashed and their NorthernC0ck sponsors....

Could you say that again, I didn't catch it the first time.
