Prior to JPA you'd have to submit a form for this that and the other.

Post JPA you have to submit a web form for this that and the other.

The only difference is that no biro is required, just an RLI log-on and a lot of patience.

Yeah, and you're rubbish at it as well. Are you saying that the RAF wouldn't need medics if we did the Med Admin for you?! No - I didn't think so.
All trades involve doing admin, so stop being silly.

Quite agree, grow up mate. There is no such thing as Admin Clerks anyway - check the name of this thread. Who do you think does the "Admin" for "Adminers", such as duty rosters, leave, CCS, Guard, Fitness Tests etc etc, never mind managing the day-to-day running of their Section - oh and doing all the non self-service admin that is still required, dare I say even increased, since the advent of JPA.

Answer: the then Head of the Admin Branch (AVM) - around 1999 I think - rolled over to the then Head of the Med Branch (AVM) and said yeah we'll do it - no consulation on implications for the trade or consideration of even the simple fact that it was a blindingly obvious medical task. Typical of our trade, the chain of command aka OC AW etc would not stand up and be counted.
