Unfortunately my knee will never make it to MPA. As I said there is still plenty of important work being done in this country which for various reasons cant be contractorised, not everyone is employed at the main bases.

Ok crack on I'll bite. How the hell would a knee problem stop you from going to MPA to say work in SCAF. None of the playing soldiers malarky just simply go down there... push a pen/keys on a pooter back to the block for 4 months. Seriously I am sat here wondering how a bad knee would stop that??? No one is saying there isn't important jobs to be done here... the point is for every one of you that doesn't go away the one's who can go away are having to leave their beloveds behind more often when they too could be here in the UK doing these 'important' jobs.

As an aside to going to MPA is not all you ought to watch out for... I know of someone who hasn't been away for X amount of years for x reasons and recently got sent away for 4 months to move an FU from one base to another. Perhaps you could be the next one to go away from your family for 4 months to do such a job.

RAF Bird I think both you and I have taken the bait off this tosser, I do hope he is only phishing. But if not someone must know who he is and give him the grief he so much deserves.:PDT_Xtremez_09::PDT_Xtremez_09:

Hopefully, I've done my time on the Ents Committee and helped with the scouts, a bit of work in between. Nine hours times 2 on a flight would kill my knee, so I would be no good when I got there.

That's alright we'll sail you down there. Enjoy the extra few weeks stuck on a boat shipmate.

Should be released by the end of the week, and yes 10 more. After that no more promotion boards to Cpl, for a couple of years. Apperently.

I had heard they weren't going to be promoting any more this board and they were saving the 10 for the next board as they wanted to at least be able to carry on promoting. However as it is from the mouth of BJW I will believe it to be true.

Came as a bit of a surprise to me as well but the 10 will still allow for a decent quota for the next board in the Autumn (at home right now and can't remember when it is). The down side is that unless recruiting is increased we are going to have an awful lot of gaps at SAC level, which of course means that many cpls will end up doing similar work to that which they were doing as SACs. Still, at least the pay is better

I take it you have a posting that you want. Or is that coming later on?

Yes I too am interested to know where these 10 Cpls are being posted to. I have desperately been trying to get a posting south so that I can have someone to look after my wee lad when I go OOA but apparently there are no slots or a Conz. So these 10 people must be getting posted to either Leeming, Waddo or RAF Scotland.

There are a few slots still available at an old Harrier base in Cambs, with a few more Cpl's going in the next few months.
