So is there a freeze on promotions for the next few years or not?! conflicting reports everywhere it seems. I've had an email in my hand from the desk saying there will be no SAC to Cpl promotions for the 'foreseeable future'. Has this changed all of a sudden? no-one seems to know. If this has been revised why has it not been promulgated by the desk, or has it?

The last PSL was put on hold (not closed) a few months ago and at the time there was no forecast of futher selections from that board "for the foreseeable future". However, the number of immediate promotions from the recent Cpl-Sgt board required further selections from the SAC-Cpl Board. This was not foreseen so therefore the statement made at the time was correct. There is no freeze on promotions, although I am sure the conspiracy theorists out there will find reason to disagree
 
Well if there is no more promotion for the next couple of years then my only hope is trying to sign on for 15 or its natural wastege for me.
 
According to the manning website the figure is 92, and the board will sit between the 10th and 25th October.

No doubt the figures will be slashed dramatically as last year but it gives hope!
 
At A RAF Base where the locals have 6 Fingers we had the Trade Sponsor & head Of Branch Visit and the subject of SAC - CPL promotion was brought up.

The Trade Sponsor said that it was 92 but would be a minimum of 50.

After reading the posts, and with me being in a trade where its dead mans shoes past a certain rank with the next promotion on average 14yrs away, i would suggest keeping yourself competitive for promotion no matter what. If the recent state of things has taught you nothing else it should teach you that its always changing. Yes its all negative it seems now but don't sell yourself short because you thing there's never a chance, things always change! Good luck to you all.
 
The SAC - Cpl promotions now is saying 67 soon it will probably be 5 !

Nothing heard @ a Big camp in Oxfordshire. Have heard rumours about other camps but would not like to digress.
