Do the winged master race still get flying pay?

I believe they do, but it tapers off as they progress up the career ladder and do less and less flying.

Now, if they paid teccie pay in the same way, so that those who fix pointy things get extra money, whilst those who spend their careers in QCITs, Command HQs, and AFCOs dont, then it gets a big big thumbs up from me.

SRP cap is here.

http://www.cipd.co.uk/hr-inform/Employment-law/legislative-changes/statutory-rates/default.aspx

Max payment is 30 weeks worth for 20 years service over the age of 41, about £12k, most forces redundees would have less service than this, SRP probably nearer £6k which is likely to be less than most peoples 3 months wages.

Very few public sector employees get SRP but a lot of private companies use it.

Any misunderstandings above caused by predictive texf

Must admit I didn't realise SRP was so low, mine using the governments own calculator worked out at 9,225 for 24 years service. Amount under current redundancy scheme would be 28,500 and under new scheme 9,300. So what are the benefits of the new redundancy scheme? Or was it just a way to get rid of people post sdsr15 on the cheap?

I believe the winged master raec still get Flying Pay when they do a ground tour - after 3 years it starts to reduce and after about 5 it stops.
Just cos a techie is posted to a crap office they job they may not have asked for doesn't mean they should be disadvantaged. In the time i did in i was twice promoted from 1st line to ****e backwater jobs that i didn't particularly want. 1st line was laways the top of the list, believe me i never asked to work in an Eng Records or a QCIT.
As long as the same rules applied to the techies as it does to the winged master race I don't see an issue. otherwise all the Techies in what are seen as non-techie posts (even though the paperwork says Tech Trade to fill) will soon be abandoning posts and who could blame them

As a well rounded individual you are expected to do tours in a QCIT, Quality, Eng Ops, Docs, off aircraft 2nd line and teaching posts. I dont agree with AFCO's if your heading to them you are out of trade through choice. But again this is a pointless exercise as its never going to happen unless manning levels drop.

Maybe not that quickly. Once typhoon has a few more weapon capabilities then they are gone.

i cannot see that making any odds at all,if we (the uk)are not scrapping someone somewhere in a years time the budget will be hacked to buy off the voters.

Agreed that is what is told but who says its true?

At the risk of repeating myself, this ( imho) is what is wrong with TG1, it has become just a utility trade and has been used and abused by the leadership of the RAF because it was the biggest, however I think that a greater degree of fidelity should be employed by the leaders. Recognise and reward certain disciplines (e.g. working on those pointy things) pay shift allowance ( to everyone who works shifts routinely).

QCIT (amongst others positions) can be civilianised, or RAF Aux or manned by those who can not deploy for whatever reason.

I see the thread going into a techie pay debate again. Pay according to individual Q's and auths gets my vote. In times of Project Zues we will all get chance to rotate into more lucrative jobs.

Back to SDSR, I heard on the radio today that 2015 could be the 1st time in 100 years that the UK hasn't been at war somewhere in the world. That would give the bean counters a perfect excuse to wield the axe. As a previous poster mentioned I also reckon Tornado will be 1st in the firing line as we will have no immediate use for a bomber Sqn.

i was under the impression the FI could kick off any day, hence the clamp down on beer and fun to keep the troops on that fighting edge

love it :)

They'll deffo sh1t-can the the tonka's then,,, for fear of Eck getting his paws on the mighty twin man twin fan swing wing angel of death :)

So, despite all the top brass dating it's not... The PVR rate(or however you term it) IS higher the the historical norm...

Now why could that possibly be...?

Personally, after looking at this years predicted promotions quota, I'll be spending the next couple if weeks sorting my CV...

Same in my trade 600 odd in the field looking for a massive 15! So 3 years in rank at the top of my pay spine and no realistic chance of promotion for the next how many years? They need to sort the pay spines out so you at least get extra for every year in rank for the whole time you're in the rank.

Its written down in your career path if you can believe Manning use it! its all laid down in AP3376 Vol2 which states you should do 1 tour in 3 on the frontline, well worth a read to throw back at Manning when they try to stiff you for a ****e posting.
