Tandem Skydive for Combat Stress

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored so far, just to say so far we've got £175 online in sponsorship and been in work today collecting sponsors off the weekend staff, to a sum of £356. That makes a total of £531. Not bad for a few days.

Come on everyone who hasn't sponsored us yet, dig deep, get the total higher, you know you want to. Helping Combat Stress and making two girl scream now that's value for money.

We'll make sure we're sober before the jump but afterwards we intend to celebrate in style.

£190 online now and £459 offline so far, we need lots more sponsors to get the figure up.

I Scaley brat being of sound mind and almost as sound body hereby pledge, on this the first day of October in the year of our lord 2007, to Give Laboratoryqueen not less than the sum of £20 Towards her making a tit of herself, sorry jumping for charity.
Signed on original !!

SB esquire !!

It will be winding it's way to you shortly petal.

Oh see my nervous but happy grin.

Just been on the phone to the parachute centre about our jump. The guy asked which charity we are raising funds for and when I explained about Combat Stress he said he held that close to him as he had almost 22 years in the Army. Yes the guys at the parachute centre are sponsoring us themselves too, and he's passing it round to his mates.

Our jump is going to be brought forward to early November, it will be on a Saturday, we now just need to arrange a date.

I can't believe we are actually doing this, I think all those who have said we are off our rockers for jumping may be right.

You've brought it forward? Is that so you have less time to chicken out?:PDT_Xtremez_30:

AS you know hun my donation is on its way!, come on folks put your hands in your pockets!!!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

We had been given a date far enough away to be able to raise our target amount, but we're already over half way towards that amount now, after only several days. So the jump date is going to be early November, we are hoping to do it on rememberance weekend, so hopefully we'll get Saturday 10th Nov, everything permitting that is.

Do you think I could do a Mr T impression when I walk out to the plane, "ain't getting me on no plane fool"

We're still getting lots of sponsors offline, that amount is coming along very nicely.

Have to say, Thanks to the local Army careers office for their money this morning and to the Army Cadets, nice one, also to the parachute academy themselves who are also sponsoring the jump.

Had mail from Combat Stress today too, they are going to help publicise the jump and will wave to us from the ground as you wouldn't get her doing it :PDT_Xtremez_14:

The response from all the staff and even the managers at Morrisons has been fantastic and has really boosted the amount we've got, and we've both been given the full weekend off work to do the jump and to celebrate afterwards, yay big pish up after.

Thanks again to all who have sponsored us so far online, those who haven't yet, go on, you know you want to, it's all for a good cause.

I think it is about time this was given a bump!

More and more of us are being exposed to some horrid stuff and if it comes back to bite you in the asre mentally later on, Combat Stress are your only hope because sure as beans make you fart, the NHS don't have the resources!

If you haven't already done so, get your hand in your pocket/purse and even if you only stump up a few bob it all helps!

LQ, I know you have had a busy time lately but any chance you could give us all a progress report?

Jimps

We have the jump date for the 10th November, expected to jump about 1030, it is a Saturday. Doing the jump at Shotton airfield. We asked for that date as with the jump being for a forces charity, I shall also be remembering my brother that weekend.

So far we have £220 online and £726 offline. There is an article in tomorrows local paper with links to the sponsor site and also details of where to find the normal sponsor forms. We still have more names to collect as we've circulated sponsors forms round some local businesses. Mandy and myself will be at ISK the end of the month, so if you're there, expect to be grabbed for sponsors.

It's planned to have a representative from Combat Stress at the jump, we are handing over a portion of the collection to her, and sending the rest through the just giving site, that way they claim the gift aid on top of the donation, works out as a lot more money for the charity by doing it that way.

BUMP

We're jumping this Saturday, nerves are starting to kick in a little bit.

Big thanks to those who have sponsored so far, still time to sponsor if anyone wishes to.

Good luck toots - scream long and loud - and if the chute don't work - take it back for another when you get down xx :)

Have a fitness to jump form jobby to fill out and it states on there that you can't jump with a BMI of 27.5 or over. I take it that's because you'd kind of drop like a stone.

What would happen with a BMI of 19.9?????

You'll drop like a brick !! :PDT_Xtremez_42:

If I don't, the bloke strapped to my back may not be happy :PDT_Xtremez_14:

There are so many directions I could take that statement, I'm spoilt for choice!:PDT_Xtremez_14:

On second thoughts though I may need to hire those SAS(squirrels and showgirls, obviously as thats all i'd need) types for close protection afterwards so i'll let it go.......

Two days and we jump, well not even a full two days. yes I am very nervous but it's that "omi god it's christmas morning" nerves, I can't wait. Biggest fear for me really is I've never been on a plane, not one which happened to then fly with me on it anyway.

Must say a big huge Thank you to my big brother, my Uber Pooky, Teej, he's on leave at the moment and is getting out of bed at stupid o'clock on Saturday morning to drive me over to the airfield. Big huge thanks my sweetest pookster, and yes I am baking you a big chocolate cake for doing it. Some brothers do it for love, he just wants cake :PDT_Xtremez_15:

Mandy and myself are amazed at the support and amount of sponsorship we've received in doing this, once we've collected all the money in, I'll post up the grand total raised. As I have said previously, even though we will be handing over a proportion of the money raised on the day, I do aim to make the majority of the sponsorship through the justgiving site, to claim the gift aid on top.

Oh and thanks Mono for the poster, sweet :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Oh and if I don't post anything after Saturday, the chute didn't open okay :PDT_Xtremez_15:
