Tg4 Bt2/bt3????

Does any one know what happening with us CISOM's we were sposed to go back to cosford within 18 months for BT2/BT3 but from what iv heard they might be combining the 2 courses or even stopping BT2/BT3, so if anyones gota update that would be great.

I started a thread a few days ago asking if there are any Updates on the way forward on TG4. As you can see the TG4 threads have been stale for a while. Lack of information from everybody up top esp the TS is significant. CIS Tech has said that there has been a team set up at RAF Halton to look into the TG4 debacle but apart from that...NADA. It's pretty frustrating for everybody.

Perhaps we will just do our Q/Civvie courses for whatever kit we are going to work on.

Way things are going any new courses will be on 1 page of A4 with how to answer a phone on the Helpdesk. I really really feel for these new youngsters that have joined up to TG4. Bad enough being assimilated from TG3 to Tg 3 3/4 but for this lot. ......."Cheers for joining up...We've mucked the trade up and we may promote one or two of you to prove a point!!! Your posted to RRH Benbecula. Just don't touch the radar please."

It's unfair on us as well as them but I would rather have a TG 3 background even if we have been screwd over by TG11.

The whole 18 month thing was disputed a while back, when all the promotion stuff happened. There was a big point made that there was no mention of you going back after 18 months and that it was mis-interpreted by cosford. Ideally (it says) you would do 18 months then go back but as there are no planned slots for you there is no need to put you through.
Service need and all that.
and they save a few quid.

Apparently the TS is down south at the moment so i am assuming there will be nothing said regarding the BT2/3 courses until said individual returns.

Have heard from the other half (TG4 OM) that some courses for CIS Techs could be starting in Dec this year and they wont be as long as originally expected.

Here at the Airport to the World they have decided that Because of Atlas etc, that all the OM's live in the BNCC and not allowed to work in GRF

Mate i'm not sure how you can say that, he has a team of FltLt's, Sqn Ldr's and a Wng Cdr taking care of this issue. The blame for this seems to be sat with them, you don't seem to know what the TS actually does. ps this isn't an invitation to a bun fight with TG3's as it is boring now

We had a briefing this week at Cosford, from our Wg Cdr. The TS has been up here and the info passed on is provisionally....

BT2 and BT3 will not happen, instead there may be a lead-in course for those going to the wing.

CIS Tech and CIS IM are dead. Long live the new title ICT Technician - yes, this is for everyone, not just ex TG3. No longer will there be two seperate streams.

All promotion boards will be joint. End of.

4000 Trainees will not be trainees anymore, they will be apprentices.

This is all forecast to come in, during the next few months apparently.

I am surprised this info is not already on here somewhere, but feel free to check with your cosford contacts to confirm.

Im afraid I really dont know anything more than what I have put on my previous post.

We were talked to, not with. (Unfortunately).

I have been out a few years now, so maybe Im missing something here. How can TG11 be employed on TG3 kit? How does that work then?

In my time I would never ever let anybody loose on any of my radar kit who werent suitably Qd/certified on it, and only then once they have gained some practical on it.

All TG3 kit will be handed to contractors. Or so those in the ivory towers believe.
As they believe DII/ ATLAS will not have any effect on the IT side of our jobs.

I need some proof before I take the cosford gossip to be true?
